Anyone else back in office?

I'm transitioning my status to full-remote, but plan to go into the office once or twice a month for those snacks.  My company has gone away from assigned desks currently, though.  You request a desk the night before via an app and they place you near your teammates.  I think I'm going to wait for things to settle a bit more before I make my first return trip.

My company is adopting a work from anywhere policy (at the moment). But they plan to re-open offices in February for those that want to commute and work in the office.  However if you move outside of 75 miles from the office, you could be in for a pay rate adjustment come February when they do open the office again.

Been working from home for a little more than six years, and the thought of going back to an office gives me shakes and sweats.

We're doing the distance thing, too, except by zip codes.  We close on a house in Boulder Creek on Monday and avoiding the pay cut was a top priority in choosing which zip codes to shop in.  We can still choose to never go into the office even if we live within commute distance, but being full-remote doesn't prohibit us from using the office when we wish.  So, evacuations, outages, etc... I'll probably go in.

I never stopped working .

I did lose one part-time job due to Covid , it just got really slow so I had to move on. The job I’m currently at I work part time , just as before 3 days a week sometimes 4

We haven’t had any slow down where I’m at currently in fact our sales have been on average somewhere between $600,000 - $650,000 a month.Including a couple that hit over 1 million in sales

Go figure people are buying guitar parts like crazy or guitar pick ups anyway

And free donuts every other Thursday and catered lunches when we pass sales goals which is set at $700,000 which we’ve had 5 times since I started in mid December 2020

I have been working at the office the whole time. Until the first week this September when we re-opened to the all staff and the public, we had only a few people onsite. It was weird. Having people back seems odd now, go figure.

admittedly, being totally honest i am not the best teleworker.  way too many distractions.

I work for a city as a building/public works inspector, so it slowed down a little at the start of covid but I always needed to be in the office everyday. I was in the office this last Sunday watching the creek that goes under the building getting full.

I've been, "in office" since the beginning....having all you kooks off the road was a beautiful thing.  :smt003

Initially it was an erie experience seeing the 101, 280 and 880 completely barren of vehicles during rush hour.  Sadly that all ended earlier this year and it's a parking lot again lol.

I've worked from a home office for over 20 years -- I'm now completely broken and unfit to work among others for any length of time :-)

Cheers,
Brad

Got hired on as a full time remote staffer with a studio I freelanced with for a few years.

Will not at all miss the commute, getting back 2+ hours a day that used to be spent sitting in a car or on BART is great.

I do miss having folks to chat with while waiting on renders, so apologies in advance if I talk anyone's ear off while fishing.

I was already working remote one day a week, so it was an easy transition to make it 5 days a week. My wife was part of the "great resignation" so I'm happy to have my job still.

A few staff have gone back to the office, but my home office view is too good to leave.
It also helped my nerves after the CZU fire to be present all the time, as we had randos from FEMA all over the place, and there were a few enterprising crackheads that picked up on how a fluorescent vest will allow you lots of freedom  :smt011.

I'm in my office about 30 minutes a week now, just to use some of the office equipment and send out invoices.

One good thing was that i was able to coordinate a bunch of home repair/maintenance stuff without having to use my PTO.
I'm currently watching a massive tan oak tree being felled in my yard today. Sad to see it go, but it died over the summer from the blight. It's 80ft tall and 3ft thick at least. :smt009  At least it didn't fall during Sunday's windstorm.
