Very light use. Watersnake T245 setup to run on a hobie kayak - goes in place of the mirage drive. Includes motor (attached to Hobie plug) 12v battery in battery box, and battery monitor. Wired using standard SAE plug.

Just curious, how many amp-hours is the battery you use? I've been researching these and anything that provides more than a couple hours of run time is either monsterously heavy or extraordinarily expensive (lithium).

I made one of these and the best cheapo battery is the mighty max SLA 55ah 12v that weighs 34lbs. It seem to last about 5hrs and is a decent compromise btwn price, weight, and amperage. Obviously the best would be a lithium ion 12v but they are expensive. I actually have a nice Li-ion, and it doesn’t work with my super old-school Minnkota for some reason…thats a different topic though haha, sorry for the thread-jack!
