hey there!  figured I'd reach out to the newbies like me who have little to no experience in the yak fishing world and in need of a partner to avoid the solo experience.
I am from Watsonville and looking to go out anywhere in the Monterey Bay area.  If this sounds like it's an "aha" moment for you let me know...

Hey bud!

I'm looking to either hit up the Coast Guard Pier or Half Moon Bay next weekend. Let me know when/where you plan to head out.

Between waiting on a repair for my kayak, crazy weather, and Mother's day weekend... my eyebrows have fallen off from withdrawal... so definitely looking to make things happen next weekend!

Weather looks a little sketchy this wknd...Sunday should be doable in Monterey or SC. Just plan to paddle back in around noon.

I’m planning on Capitola Sunday as early as I can get there/first light. Launching next to the wharf. Even if the ocean is a little rough elsewhere, Capitola can be pretty calm especially on the inside. And there are usually plenty of other boaters around.

I’m planning on Capitola Sunday ...

Good luck and post a report.

I was in SC today, and the winds were supposed to be out of the W/NW and unfishably strong by 9:30 or 10:00, but the reality was much different. The wind was still modest when I got off the water at 11:30, although it had picked up to some white capping by the time I left at 12:30, but nothing crazy strong. The weird thing was that all morning, the breeze was out the E/SE, exactly the opposite of the prediction.

There were a bunch of commercial fishing boats in the area, and I came across a few big bait balls. There were some dolphins around too.

Not to discourage you, but fishing was awful today. In 5 hours, I only had one modest take-down and didn't land anything. There were not many boats out (I saw no kayakers), and the few people that I talked to had all been skunked too. Hopefully, things will improve by tomorrow...

I went out with this guy "Carmel Marty". We launch from Pebble Beach and had a blast., The launch was nice and smooth.
Hit up Carmel Marty.
Cheers!
