We’re looking for a good stove now and seems like reliability on appliances has gone way down, even the most expensive ones

Love cooking on gas stoves . Just hate the cleaning , so i ended up with a nice glass top. Don't skimp on cookware for glass tops. The cheap ones warp and won't sit well after a while.

On the gas stove front, we just bought the cheapest model Blue Star and I'm extremely happy with it. Cooks better than anything I've ever had at home-I worked in restaurant kitchens for 20 years, and this thing is the real deal. I don't have to rotate when baking and the broiler is top-notch. Cheaper than a Wolf or Viking, made in PA. Very user serviceable, all parts sold on their website-fantastic quality. Only downside was the long lead time (10-12 weeks) and price tag, but it's an oven/range that I'll have for ever.
