Wife had both doses (Moderna), she felt the sore arm and a little tired/feverish/mild flu (very minor).  Was too conscious and have a little fear about it, we think the side effect is out of fear/anxiety.  No side effect on the second shot other than sore arm.

Mother-in-law had her 1st dose (I think its Pfizer), no effect whatsoever other than sore arm (very minor).  2nd dose today.
Sister-in-law also had both doses (Pfizer), was pretty feverish and unwell for about two days (had to rest up and not work).  The second one is worst than the first one.
My dad had his first and will received his second soon.  No effect whatsoever.

I would say it varies among people, allergic reactions seem to the biggest culprit. When its my turn, there is no doubt I will get it.

You can expect soreness in the arm for up to 3 days. Fatigue and chills for up to two weeks and rare allergic reactions. Most allergic reactions are mild like hives and tingling around the lips but there have been rare more serious allergic reactions. I am a physician and do not recall seeing any other reports of seeing Jesus.

I got mine 2 weeks ago. I just had a really sore arm for 2 days. Made it difficult to sleep on my side. Other than that, no other side effects. Well see how the second shot goes. I hear side effects can be a little more pronounced with the second one

I got my first Moderna on friday- Arm is still visibly red and lightly swollen around the injection site, but not as sore anymore.. Felt like i was kicked in the arm the first 2 days.  #2 should be interesting but i have heard everything for 2-day fevers to no reaction- ill go into it strong-willed and see how it goes!  My buddy got clobbered by the 2nd one had to take days off of work in a row.  Was feverish for the 2nd half of the first day through the 2nd.  Seems to be totally hit or miss

If it's any consolation, I have always thought that it was a good sign to have some sort of reaction to any vaccine as it's a sign of a healthy and reactive humoral immune response. I'd be more concerned if nothing happened at all...

I've heard that older folks have been having a less severe reaction to the vaccine than young people for the most part which would make sense in this context, as younger people generally have better immune systems.

To others, I qualify as old.  Moderna, 1st: sore shoulder for a couple days and perhaps a  little tired, but that could be a symptom of "the olds". 2d: shoulder more sore for a few more days than the 1st, but I wasn't tired, so I figure it cured "the olds" before they got out of control.

My wife and I are part of the Pfizer phase 3 trial, and had our shots back in August. We were not told whether we had the real dose or a placebo. I felt run down and slightly nauseous the day after the first shot, and for two days after the second one. My wife’s side effects were less than mine but we both felt that we had received the real deal.

We were notified in mid December that we both had received the real vaccine. Next week I go in for antibody testing to see if the vaccine is still protecting me.

There was a lot more involved with being in the trial than I expected, three blood tests, nose swabs, logging into an app once a week, and piles of paperwork.

On the plus side I was vaccinated early, and have been paid around $450, and will continue to get $5.00 each time I log into the app, and $125.00 for each visit to the clinic. The money received so far was spent on a Tekota reel, and Terez rod. The trial can last up to two years but participants can drop out any time.

They are looking for more volunteers to test a freeze dried version of the Pfizer vaccine:

As COVID vaccine distribution efforts are ramping up worldwide, Pfizer has developed a version of its vaccine that doesn’t require freezing at ultra-cold temperatures. We are conducting a new study that is part of this effort and are reaching out to you to see if you have family members or friends who may be interested. As participants in the original Pfizer COVID vaccine study, we know you are invested in the outcome of this vaccine research.

The study is looking at the side effects and immune response of the current version of the Pfizer COVID vaccine(which is stored as a frozen liquid) vs a lyophilized (freeze-dried) version of the Pfizer COVID vaccine. The lyophilized version will allow for storage at standard refrigerator temperatures as compared to the current version which requires storage at ultra-low temperatures.

Please note that there is NO placebo group in this study
—everyone will get the active vaccine!

The study is approximately 2 months long and requires 3 clinic visits. The first visit is the Screening Visit/First Dose, and will last approximately 3 hours; this first visit will occur on either April 1, April 2 or April 5. The Second Visit/Second dose, will last approximately 2 hours and will occur 3 weeks after the first visit. The third and final visit will be approximately 1 hour long and will occur one month after the second visit.

We are only enrolling 28 healthy volunteers between the ages of 18-55 into the study and need to find a balance between age, gender and diversity.

If you know someone who is interested, please have them email Caitlin Sheets, [email protected], or call 925-930-7267

I just received my 2nd Moderna shot this morning.  About 2 hours after the shot I felt a little fuzzy in the head, like in a fog, but it went away in about two hours.  My arm feels like I have a 50lb weight hanging from it right now.  Other than that I feel fine so far.  First shot only gave me a sore arm, then a itchy rash about 8 days after the shot.  A little benadryl cream and everything was just fine.

First shot of Pfizer last week. Sore shoulder by the time I went to bed that night and then even more soreness the following day. Day after that though, the pain was gone and I had no other side effects.

I just got it this noon time.  First dose of Pfizer. Feel fine.  Not even a sore arm.  Thus far.

I do feel a tad tired.  I’m not taking chances. I’m going to bed early as heck.  Like 8:00pm.

Good night.

Figured I would add my recent experience with the first shot from Pfizer.  First and foremost, I went to the new Kaiser vaccine center down on 10th St in Oakland.  Class act.  I was in and out in under 18 minutes with the 15 min observation period.

Painless shot, moved my arm all day and had no arm pain.  Next day my arm was actually quite sore.  The more I used it, the better, but if I didnt use it for an hour it was quite tender.  After 3rd day no arm pain.

I had no other symptoms of anything.  Slept great, lots of energy, no headaches or anything odd.

My fiance had Moderna and was actually quite sick for 2 days with her second shot.  She had to take it off from work it was so bad.  Pfizer is supposedly not as severe.
I'd rather be swinging...

My experience with Pfizer is similar.  Sore arm for the day after.  Pain free after that.  Helped that I went fishing and was casting a lot.

I was tired tho.  Two nights in a row I fell asleep at 7:30 pm. Nuts.  But two 9-hour “naps “ cures a lot of issues. :)

Looking towards getting fuse two done.
