WHERE Would you GO? Help me decide where to go please -- I need some options


As the title suggest im looking for suggestions  (realistic options)..... Typically I would be in my Hometown of NEW ORLEANS chasing ducks and tailing reds, BUT... As luck would have it, its not lining up. Due to COVID, several house remodels in the family, and some other reasons, I find myself free from responsibility this week and then some..... Wife and kids are at Grandmas in TN and I got a green-light to go anywhere in the world and go fish (or hunt). I got a TON of SKYMILES from my minstrel ways.... and even a house/dog sitter. Ive been fishing in alot of places and IM open to loading up the truck or heading to the airport. The easier the accommodation and yak setup the better. I can travel with gear...... need yak, beach, sunshine, fighting lines......GO!!!

1. Im CoVID IMMUNE - I already had it, it kicked my ass....

2.A lot of countries have test restrictions and its a short list. Costa is open but I have yak fished there before but would go if right situation

3.IM CONSIDERING Anywhere via Airport or loading up the truck/camp on West coast.....

4. Ive been fishing all over...costa indo mexico

Places I havent been.... LA JOLLA... KEY WEST...

Stay close to home like we’ve been asked to do.

I don’t like the notion that those who weren’t as careful and caught the virus (and probably passed it around) should now be rewarded with a free travel pass while those of us who have been careful have to continue sheltering in place.

Do we even know if recovering from COVID-19 means you’re 100% immune?

That was my consideration.  Many epic fishing videos take me to Florida...

Anthony Bourdain’s trip to the Azores was fishy.  At least from a seafood discovery standpoint.   I’d visit there in a heartbeat but have no study of fishing the area...

If I were doing it I would choose a bucket list species or two and figure out where to go to chase it. So what is it you want to catch?

You said La Jolla. The winter bite is tough down there but there are a few yellowtail around according to some reports.

I had a lot of fun fishing south Florida a few years back, lots of different species to chase.

Baja is close and somewhat exotic. Lots of different species to chase.

Whatever you do take lots of pics and post a report! I’m stuck fishing local and haven’t been catching too much lately.
