I’m sure Jude wants to get back on track with how many fishing deaths he can participate in for his epic week of tug o’ war... :smt006

As of this morning, there have been 318,000 US deaths due to CV19 in under 10 months.

Total US combat deaths from WWII was 291,557 and took 4 years.

Total US combat deaths from all other wars combined is 366,413 and include;
Civil war, WWI, Vietnam war, Korean war, Revolutionary war, Iraq war, War in Afghanistan.  That's from 1775 to 2020  We will likely surpass this in the next month or two.

I found these numbers for deaths from CDC and Wiki.

Comparing an infectious disease to war is absurd. More than 50M died in the Spanish flu of 1918-1919, at least 675k of those in the US. And the flu is most deadly for young and old, whereas Covid mostly just affects the old, so in terms of lost years of life, the gap is far greater than those numbers make it sound.

Take appropriate precautions based on you risk factors, but keep a sense of perspective...

I'm going to just lock this thread down.  A bit of a hornets next here, that I'd rather not spend any time wading through.
