It has been more than one year since last trip to Big Sur. It was fun of spending days at Limekiln for camping and fishing.

While driving down Hwy 1 along Big Sur Coast and looking at Pacific ocean, I felt itchy to get on water asap. It was indeed the best condition I had seen for a long time. No wind and no swell in the entire day = oily glassy. How about launch at Limekiln? Easy, because of very little shore breaks.

Fishing was hot. It seemed not matter whether you would fish early or late and in the morning or the afternoon. Bites were open everywhere with structures and anytime of the day. My catches of day were 1 Ling (31”), 6 reds with 22” inch longest, 1 oliver, and 1 grass = Great day of fishing.

Meeting Ed, Allen & Mark (from Utah) on the park. They left Thursday afternoon and evening for ELK and home. Nice of meeting you guys. :smt006

Pictures to follow and enjoy ...

Nice haul and awesome conditions.  Nice you were able to stay out there a while this time.  That wind has been a bitch.

Yah, the condition was perfectly good. It was just flat shown in the pictures. I have not had that good condition since I started kayak fishing. I consider it as a treat for us.  :smt007

Way to go Eric, with all this wind we've had this year (in Cambria) it makes me realize how few & far between those great days are!!!!

Glad you got it good!!!

Hi Eric,

It was very nice to see you again. I wish I would have stayed the extra day and fished with you. Your tips on Elk were right on. Thanks bro. Here are some of the pics from our adventure. The first pic is of our friend Mark as he runs for his life on an aborted Lime Kiln launch.

This pic shows how glassy it was. I love this pic, it explains it all.........

Here is a couple shots of everyones favorite polygamist, Alan

You can tell Utah is a productive state. Just look at the condition factor on these boys.

A lady in the park asked if these were Koi.

Beautiful......................................................

Mark's First Gaff Shot

It was great to see you Eric, and I look forward to fishing with you in the future. Mark says he's moving to Big Sur now. Yeah, right. Later

So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains, where the spirits go...........

that "running man" shot is exactly what happened to ChuckE on opening weekend two years ago out of Mill Creek when a bunch of us fished the Kitchen.  Only ChuckE didn't quite get out of the way, ended up doing the craziest backflip ever by a guy wearing neoprene.  That day also had beautiful weather.  Seems like if you get awesome weather, Big Sur make you pay for it.

great job you guys!!  do you recall the forecast for that day?  Would like to head down under simillar conditions.

Yakuza,

We didn't check the forcast. Our trip was based on the Elk tourny. We were fishing no matter what. Eric probably knows.
