Good morning all,
Beautiful morning out here at bolinas.  Yard sale at the launch just to the west of the ramp, I suck.  Tide is in, so prob no hope in finding some stuff, but I will pay $100 to the person that locates my shark shield and returns it to me.  I'll scour the beach when I land later, at low tide, hopefully with chrome.  Fucked up both of my reels, so looks like I'll be rebuilding those later.  Lost a downrigger ball and my shark shield.  Please let me know if you find it.  For now, it's fishing time.  At 40 fow right out front...

Good luck on both counts. Hope you at least enjoy your day on the water, I’m stuck at home for the 1,467 th day in a row, starting to go a little crazy!

That sucks, Nolan.

1 - catch a limit of salmon, bro.
2 - don't see a shark, bro!

Get em!   :smt001

The beach there has gotten waaaaaayy steeper causing the break to dump much harder and greatly reduces margin of error. I noticed yesterday it was a little gentler a few yards towards the lagoon.

A tip for landing-pick your time between sets and drive your bow into the sand before stepping off. If you step off prematurely there won’t be any ground underfoot and you’ll lose whatever you already haven’t!

Get em and report what you see! It’s a long ways from over imo.

No kidding. Last year, I showed up all confident and marched right out without taking a few minutes to count out the sets. Promptly got rolled and broke my rudder. Not just the pin but the actual rudder housing/mechanism. Had to go home tail between my legs and I was out of commission for a few weeks. I don’t think I even had the steep beach excuse!

Bummer Nolan, but glad you are safe and on the water. Go get em!!

Thanks everyone for the good vibes.  Unfortunately, there was no love for me today, however conditions were fantastic.  I'm sticking around here until low tide to see if something is revealed.  If I don't find it, then I'm hoping a good karma seeker will find my SS and return it.
So some of you are definitely thinking I ate it on the launch.  Not today!  It was a simple launch today... FAC.  My dumbass left the kayak too close to the water while I took my cart back to the truck.  It was literally touching the wall, but alas... Last time I make that mistake!  I came back to a turtle.  My front hatch was open, so I had to pump water from the hull after I got all of the shit together.  Luckily, everything was leashed except the SS and DR ball.  What a CF!
Anyway, here's to another day!   :beer2

Ha! I've helped rescue a couple boats before that were left too close to the water's edge. You should have a good chance of finding the downrigger ball - I doubt the current will move it much. The SS will be luck - hopefully the fish gods will smile on you and give you a consolation prize :-)

Cheers,
Brad

I donated a net a few years ago. I was so disgusted, I haven't been back since...

Other day sitting cold on the water, my frozen bumbling fingers donated my only apex. Noo.. Frozen and lethargic, I attempted a few retarded-like swipes with my paddle. A few moments later.. the fingers somehow again donated a sinker. Was discouraging, despondent, and glum.  Such is the sea sometimes
