Yet another great NCKA hookup - this time with Mike / Tote at DL Bliss State Park just north of Emerald Bay.  I was vacationing with my family for a week in South Lake Tahoe, so Tote and I arranged to meet around 5:30AM Sunday to launch.  We were treated to a little show when a young lady decided she had to greet the rising sun by having a micro-brew and stripping down for a quick dip!  Tote lived up to the high quality standard I've experienced across the board regarding folks I've hooked up with from NCKA.  I only had a 9' Costco boat with me for vacation as my family and I were doing lots of hard time on the beaches each day, so Tote set me up with his T160.  I'd never been on one, and I was really impressed with the speed and comfort of that boat.  I like my big fatty X-Factor for the ocean though.  Thanks alot, Tote, for making the fishing day a great one.  We jigged some iron, which I thought was totaly cool since I was missing my ocean fishing.  I was amazed when my 14.5" Mack hit a really big tuna jig that looks like only a ling would like it.  I should have gotten a picture of that jig, but I lost it to a snag at the end of the day.  We fished in 150-200' of water.  Tote also stoked me out by trapping minnows that we tried, but no luck there.  Way to go, Tote, on getting a nice score with the 21"er.  It was funny when we started out from the rocks where Tote had put his minnow trap down and he quickly announced, "Holy $hit, it's 600' deep!", and we were less than 100 yards from the rock wall!  So we "headed in" to 200', which was basically like 40-50' from the rocks!  Great time - thanks again to Tote for being so generous.

That's a great spot.  In fact, that's where my new yaks (X Factor and Pro E) first got baptized right after picking them up from Sean 2 years ago.  Any psycho's diving/jumping from those rocks?  Nice job on the fish!

Sweet report guys!
Naked ladies and big fish....NICE!

What, no crawdads? You can get a trap full of em overnight and they're the best tasting (and biggest) 'dads you'll find. I also like to go snorkling for them (with a wetsuit!).

Thanks guys!

Well, I guess it doesn't get much better than that, eh?

I'm usually only up there in the winter so I've not fished the lake yet. Beautiful pics. Those mackinaw are quite the pretty fish.

Use a big one!   :smt003  The one I caught that little Mack on was as big as a 6 oz.+ diamond jig.

Yes - there's always pyscho's!

What, no crawdads?

We did collect and release a few nice 'dads at Sand Harbor, over on the Nevada side just south of Incline - I've never eaten them.  Maybe next year!

Tahoe is just an incredible place.

Tahoe is just an incredible place.

I second that. One of the most beautiful places on earth. If there was an ocean within an hour from it I would have never moved away!

Forgot to mention that Eric freedove 23 feet with no wetsuit to recover a 'skier down' flag. He made it look easy.
