I have a Garmin Striker-4 that a friend gave me.  I made a bracket out of a piece of plastic to marry my Garmin Transducer to my Lowrance ready plate.

That problem was solved easily. (See pic)

I’m still waiting fir my battery to ship to me. I have time. I KNOW where the transducer hole goes. (Square black take in pic). I don’t love the location.  1. Water will flow there. 2. I looked inside and the backside is irregular - it was told it’s thick there and to drill hole as far forward as possible to find the thinnest location.  Further back the nut wont have enough thread to grab. Hmmmm.

The hole on the side, I am planning on using the same big 1” hole plug.  NOT the tri-wire hole plug. I like the idea of a mechanical threaded nut with a gasket. I’ll put it beside my rubber net-basket so I can stow the wires there when I’m not using the FF.

Anyone do this on their Hobie Compass?  Kinda nerve racking.  It’s immediately past the point of no return with the trigger pull on my drill. Haha.

Tips? Tricks? Warnings?

It’s the transducer hole that bugs me.  Water cascades down that trough.

FYI - after many frustrating trips with my Garmin Strike 4CV on my Hobie Revo - I bought a Lowrance Reveal Hook 5. My chirp transducer was fine - but the battery connection was very frustrating. Often the unit would simply not power up.

Yuck.  I put mine on my motorcycle battery and mine works.  I got it free, so no pain yet.

Marine goop that puppy up and check it every so often.  I’m not surprised when a little paranoia will make me do an excellent job.  A lot of these diy riggings work out well.  See ya’ on da wattah... :smt006, don’t forget your bilge pump :smt002

If you don’t mind a few inches of wire poking out of that scupper, you can run the wire through the hull somewhere else (other than the spot where the tape is in your pic).

Nerve racking, but I got it done.  I bolstered the rear hole with some sealant.

If inspiration hits I might test it with the garden hose. But probably not.  Whatever, my hatch dribbles a bit anyways.
