I won't be at the GCC to greet you...I'll be fishing!  :smt003

Please feel free to:

-unload your stuff and set up camp
-park anywhere on the north side of the building
-park in a way to maximize space
-go down the hill and fish too
-check out town

Please don't:

-park on the "lawn"
-park in front of the Fire Dept

I'll be at the GCC at around 2:00

Its still up in the air when I'll get out of Santa CRuz on Friday, depends on work, but if i get the day off I'll be there in the AM. Is the Community cneter easy to find? I can navigate to Elk easily enough, but could someone point me to the GCC?
On that note, what's the easiest way to Elk? I was figuring on the 101.

Some of the guys did that last year and all was cool....but I'd cable lock 'em together and take your FF,rods and tackle with you. Better safe than sorry.

I believe we had 8 or 9-foot swells last year and that was about the upper limit for this area.  Any bigger and it would not have been save IMO.

The forecast will get more accurate as the weekend approaches... but you have to keep in mind that the NOAA forecast is for up to 20 miles out.  Wind offshore doesn't always equate to wind near shore.

All we can do is wait and see and have a backup plan ready in case Elk is not safe.
