Can someone point me in the direction of a good food-safe 5-gallon bucket? I want to scale up my garum production and save my gallon jars for sauerkraut.
My local brew shop is closed, so perhaps something online?
Thanks!
Andrew

You can also hit up the homebrew stores - they sell buckets for fermenting beer and wine.

Cheers,
Brad

Hit up your local Chinese food restaurants and see if they have any.  Soy sauce comes in 5 gallon food grade buckets.

Any restaurant supply store will have what you need.  I was just in San Francisco yesterday.

Kamei on Clement and 6th/7th ish Area is open.

Or let me check my storage.  I sold my catering business a few years ago but still have tons of equipment that I no longer use.

I can bring one from work if you want, pick up in inner richmond.  Food grade was used to transport cherries.  The top isn't 100% airtight though, not sure if bacteria could get inside over time.

Back when I was a tile setter we used to just go ask fast food restaurants for buckets. They would just give them to us. Smelled like pickles but they are food grade

Gonna use it on everything!
The problem is, it's not warm enough in my house so I've been storing the jars in my car during the day so that they warm up and those juices start percolating!

Believe it or not, it doesn't smell! It might even make my car smell better at this point, as leftover grime from fishing smells worse.
