Seal is a good food source with a nice mix of protein and fat.  Helps a shark stay lively.

And because the world makes no sense, my first google hit for "calorie count for a seal" was from fitibit because people with fitbits eat seals.  772 calories for 100g of seal blubber.

I was going to write something similar to Daytripper - there are a lot of people within an easy drive of the NoCal coast.  The covid quarantine is also contributing to more people going outside locally.  Even a small percentage increase could be a lot of folks.  But, I haven't noticed an explosion on kayaks.  There were 7-10 on the water last Saturday at Pacifica, about the same on Sunday.  Given the amount of bait, birds/whales, and supposed salmon, there should have been more!

There was a huge number of surfers, though.  Compared to them, we have it easy.

May not be the popular opinion here.. but do whatever you want in regards to photos and social media.  NCKA is about comraderie and helping each other.  If we're suddenly gonna regulate who posts what picture or who says what you can do on social media... then why have these forums? 

One of the first responses was about how crowded Millers is lately.  EVERYONE knows that's where the halibut fishing is good.  Hell, any fishing store will tell someone who asks, that's where to go.  Kayak fishing has blown up and not just because of social media, but because of KAYAKS and their ease of access to these waters. 

I saw someone bitching the other day and being a condescending asshole about guys who use GoPros on their boats.  Is NCKA changing?  Maybe that's why the numbers have dwindled so recently.  Chill the fuck out and go fishing.

Yes, that's what NCKA has been about in the beginning.  We helped each other out because there was no where else to turn to.

Numbers haven't dwindled recently.  We've been pretty steady the past 5 years, with the 3 years before that being sort of the peak.  This year actually looks like an up year.  That's what the stats tell me.
