Sean/blondstallion told me about the site in 2005.  Still have the OK P-15 I bought in 2005. Lurked for a year before signing on in 2006.  First hook-up met Mooch and he warmly welcomed me to the crew by putting on his magic apron and offering me a cookie - the first of fun times from then on, along with so many great adventures and great friends.

Hadn't been OTW since 2016 but last week went to our 37th annual birthday gathering of friends in Cazadero to celebrate 3 birthdays, one friend turning 60. Spent a morning on Tomales and graced with a halibut that provided a nice dinner for the group.  Grateful for the friends and adventures from NCKA!

Nice John!!! Glad you got out! Let's fish together again sometime after this over :smt006

Sounds good Naoaki!

Hey Tote and everyone!

I remember reading the Chef saga and joined after lurking for a bit, i've had some of the most memorable fishing and just plain 'ol good times with the brothers and sisters and friends of this group! :smt007

Been kayaking a bit lately, just not fishing off them as much. Gotta change that!

How i got started in NCKA.

I met an older lady whos name slips my mind. She was hanging flyers about NCKA at the tackle shop here in salinas. 2005

Got me thinking about getting into kayaking so i bought an 8 ft crow kayak.   It looked like a blue bath tub. :smt005

So i headed out to Lake Del Valle to try my new yak where i met Mooch. What a awesome dude he was. Straight forward dude . I have met plenty of fisherman that you get the vibe you have to prove to them your worth before they accept you. Not Mooch. I wish i got to know him better. He spoke to me about NCKA and i mentioned what a coincidence since i had just spoke with someone recently about it. He gave me some tips on how to troll for trout their. Ill never forget that.

So i trolled the site for at least 5 yrs before deciding to purchase a real kayak. So thankful i did. Met a lot of good people and experienced some great times off and on the water.

We do bicker here as family at times but when help is needed everyone seems to put there differences aside to rally around to help the person in need.  Thank you Ahulls for the PIF you started and and all the moderators who regulate the site and of course Polepole . ( Allen) that maintains this site that we all take for granted at times.

My 2 cents

Alex   (Bullfrog)  in Honor of my Friend Antonio who razzed me like a brother i never had.

I counted 165 members signing up in 2004 and 2005; the inception of NCKA.
Out of those 165 I only counted 15 of us that are still active.
Diehards or gluttons for punishment; either way over the years it's been a roller coaster ride with the highest of highs and the lowest of lows.
In 15 years it's till the best group of people I've come to know and have made some of the best and lifelong friends ever.

Kewelist bunch of guys n gals I’ve met that I know in a few different clubs 🤙
It's all about Today!!! Because who knows what tomorrow will bring... so Better get OTW n GetSome

I like these old thread revivals. I joined in 2011, so I'm still a guppy...
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

I'm a 2007 guy too. Makes us a bunch of "rookies" doesn't it Al.
Since I am no longer in state, I still love following y'all and the adventures.
