The one spotted off Baja was estimated at over 20 ft. The one that comes back to the Vandenburg AFB area every couple years is 20+ and that was 2-3 years ago. Just ask Ryan Howell. That mother broke a record by chomping on two different kayaks on the same day

They had a very short documentary on this one as one of the Shark Week.  If I remember right, the years are the even years.  Due anytime soon .....

Does anyone know if side scan would be useful for detecting sharks?
I mean, it can go 100ft or more to the side, and the shark is not a sardin, so.. should show up.

I’d say a side scan is probably useless because when they come in and bite they come in hard and they come in fast and you won’t have any idea it’s happening until either you or your kayak are in his mouth
