Let's face it, at one point whether things are under control or not, the cities, counties, states, and Country will open back up.

Would love to hear people opinion on this, probably a good idea not to linger on what had happened or what's going on currently.   I understand that this may be a hot topic and I guess anything goes.

I would like to hear about prevention/precaution steps that people will take.  Another good topic of discussion is impact of economy within 6-12 months of opening California (albeit maybe in stages).

So. Dr Judy Mikovits is an interesting follow. She has been through hell and back for taking stands against corporate medical and pharma. Some look at her as a quack. She has been working in viral diseases and vaccines and you name it for most of her career and has butted heads with dr Fauci.

Basically she thinks we need to treat this as a really bad case of the flu and protect those most at risk. The rest of us should go along with our daily lives.

I don’t have a link to give you right now but just look her up

Hasn’t all of this already been covered in the 7 other Covid threads?

Just keep it civil. I’m sick of reading the same old crap over and over.

It's long past time for us here in Norcal to get back to a more normal situation. Some sensible social distancing makes sense to slow the spread. But SIP has done little for us in this part of the state, as is pretty easy to see from the data here:

https://www.sccgov.org/sites/covid19/Pages/dashboard.aspx

The weather will do far more to finish off the virus than SIP.

I don't like stuff that sucks.

How are you interpreting this data to suggest that SIP isn’t working? I’m not looking to dive back into the pro-SIP vs. anti-SIP debate, I’m just curious how you came to that conclusion based on the data you linked.

I hope you’re right about the weather finishing off the virus, but I have my doubts. It has impacted countries all around the globe - many of which are much warmer than Northern California. Again, I really do hope you’re right.

I have a children's hair salon, by appt., one chair, me...I used to have toys that the kids could rifle through and eat and drool on, but now I've put up shelves to display the creme de la creme of my toy collection.  I did 3 glass shelves and I have 2 to go and I might need more.  One shelf has all the fidget toys, one, transformers, one, princesses and my little pony stuff and other girlie heroes, gonna do one with vehicles and one with dinosaurs.  During the haircut a child can pick one or two off the shelves, which actually makes them more attractive being out of reach. They will go in a uv light sanitizer box after use.  I also hung a uv-c light bulb that covers 400 sq ft and it will go one for one hour an evening when no one is around.  I also added 5 minutes to each appt. so I can prepare for the next one thoroughly.  I expect to wear a face buff, not sure about the gloves.  I cut my sons hair with 7mil gloves recently and it felt doable.  One family at a time, if another encroaches on an appt. no problem for them to wait in the car until I give the green light.  Maybe one kid and parent in the salon at one time for starters.  It might even be more peaceful.  I might get a thermometer no touch device.  I am also a cash business and I'm considering square with a convenience fee but I dread the idea of paying any percentage to any company.  I guess they have to make money somehow but I resent that I may be forced to do it so the public is appeased.  Hmmmm......super sucks though that I am now waiting until June and have been shut since 3/17...Easily 20k down for the quarter.  My wife is home with the kids and we've home schooled since the beginning so that is not a shock.  Hope y'alls businesses survive, I expect to lose a few clients but if I'm Eddie Super Clean Haircut Guy...maybe I'll gain some.   :smt006

^^^^  Cut this guy's hair for sure!

Thanks for the details.  When I get back to work, I will limit my close distance interaction and will be using mask when in the office.  Probably not the best thing to do, but I think that's the new norm and acceptable to everybody now.  The wife will be installing clear plastic cover between her, equipment, and the patients.  She is already practicing clean, so that portion is a given.  They are installing clear divider for the front desk.

That UV light is a very good idea, thank you for that!  I will tell the wife.
And I hope you will make out good!  People dont forget the good people even when they have to SIP.  They will all come back!

I literally get my haircut in a back alley. I feel like he should be offering bathtub gin and abortions too, but so far it’s just haircuts.

Dang...cheap rent I suspect...I'd stay away from those other two offerings if he expands his business...what do you get for a Lost Coast Alley cut?  20$  Is he gouging like a good capitalist?   :smt006

I'm 29$ for kids + tip...Marin County, actually 0$ for 0 cuts so who am I to say...not to knock Eureka rates, he might be taking advantage of desperate groomies...it's a barter life now...offer him some pork or cheese and see if he bites... :smt005

You'd have to be pretty fucking bored to start another one of these threads.  I do enjoy reading you dudes go at it, but holy shit, why start another thread?  Just think about Tropic Thunder and Robert Downey Jr.

For $29 I’ll bring my kids over for a cut as soon as your up and running.

Update: checked with the kids and my daughter declined, she’s a hair stylist too, and prefers to pick out her own stylist. My son declined also, he’s in the ARMY and gets his cuts for free. Sorry, I tried, and I haven’t forgotten about your live bait donations I’ll get even someday.
