I got this shot a few days ago in SF. Watch til the end - or skip to 3:24 - for an extra bonus.
Enjoy!

May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

I watched a crow vs gopher this morning.  Took a long time.  If I videotaped, I woulda called it "Corvid-19."

Great video!  Thanks
I was sitting out front some time back, saw a gopher mound moving.  I snuck up and stabbed it with a pencil!  I tossed it onto the bare dirt patch near the house and expected my cat to take it from there.  As the cat approached, a blue jay swept in and snatched that gopher up!  I never would have guessed a blue jay could even get off the ground with that large a critter, let alone eat one, but this bird did.
But alas, no video.

There is a great article about how some song birds will kill rodents and the eyes and brains.

It takes a lot of patience, knowledge, and talent to get a video like that.  Thanks for posting it.

I could use that guy for the back yard  :smt003

It's not like I don't take care of them myself, but now they're just providing nutrition for very simple organisms :smt002

The Heron, in time, will turn it into food for micro-organisms too :smt005

Oh, I think plenty of folks understand your corvidae referenc. They just don't encourage punning.

Remember: Use a pun, go to jail. It's the law...
