More wine county bass 3/22. And a turtle!

I got out for a quick trip today. Threw small swimbaits for crappie in some brush and hooked a turtle! It’s actually the 2nd one I’ve caught in as many years. The bass were also biting real good on jigs. Anyways hopefully everyone isn’t losing their minds and are staying healthy!

Only two turtles? I've been in Texas and my first catch here was a turtle. In the past seven years I think I've gotten 14 to the boat and shore! They will eat anything, even a piece of plastic right in front of their nose. Here thay can get real nasty and want to take a finger.

For this year it’s actually on the small side  My biggest so far was 15 with a bunch going 14.5-14.75. I’ve started using bigger swimbaits (3.5 and 4 inches on 1/4oz heads) for them and my numbers have gone down but size has gone up.

I got lucky and the hook hadn’t gone in past the barb. I just picked him up and he tucked into his shell with the jighead still sticking out. I just shook it off real easy.
