Has anyone started Halibut fishing in the Bay yet?  when does it start and any info on locations early in the season?  Have only gone out of Paradise park late last season and cannot wait to start up again this year.

It's just starting.I was going to go Sunday but it was a little bit windy. Oyster point (O.P.), Alameda Rockwall (ARW). Are two favorite early spots.  This year has a lack of rain so all of bay could be holding halibut.
We have the government, that our forefathers warned us about.

Only in SF now.
The Berkeley live bait pens/shop closed down.  Unless someone new takes over, doubt it tho.

I'd skip the squid and focus on chovies. Lots of small baitfish in that area usually.

I've been out to OP about 6 times over the past 3 weeks.  A few shorts and thats it for me. been seeing commercial folks out there though.

There was more bait fish busting out of the water than traffic on the way back to Santa Clara.

There was a decent amount of traffic lol.
