El Sharko and I got a late start and didn't get to the lake until noon. As I was parking the truck, a couple of guys were cleaning what looked like a salmon. It was a huge rainbow probably 8lbs. They said they caught it on night crawlers and anchovies at the camp ground.

We started trolling past the camp ground with no luck. We trolled up the creek for a while and didn't see a thing. We came back down past the bridge and I hooked up on a little 2lbs trout. That was it for trout but I did get 2 large mouths. All the fish were caught on a Yozuri trout pattern. Sadly El Sharko got El Skunko.

This place was amazing looking forward to coming back. Also recommend the 1850 brewery in Mariposa. It hit the spot after being on the water all day. The burgers are amazing and the Beers not bad either.
We're going to need a smaller boat.

Nice day on the water. McClure is one of my favorite for bass fishing.

Right on, nice work!
Why did you guys end up at McClure? Seems like a long drive from Aromas :-)

El Sharko's dad recommended it. He's been doing the kayak fishing for a while and we thought it would be better to try out the kayaks on a lake rather than the ocean.

I found the scent that El Sharko was using. I wouldn't recommend it.

Hahaha I get it because I got skunked.
We're going to need a smaller boat.

I think we’ve all used that before...

Thanks for the report!
