Hi all...  I'm new here, but I have to say I feel like I've found home...  Picked up a Manta Ray 14 this spring and been fishing lakes only so far, but my intention was always to get in the ocean.

Looks like a few of you hit Bean Hollow pretty regularly.  Mind if I tag along next Sat if the weather stays nice?  I have to admit I'm nervous about getting into the saltwater, and the only reason I haven't yet is because I didn't want to go out alone the first time.

I might go if it stays calm...

Eric, I may be in, not sure if it will be Sat. or Sunday.  Sundays are usually easier for me.

I have heard lots of very good things about the LL Manta Ray - seems to be very popular for yakfishing in the European Atlantic and in the Southeast US - and 14ft is a good length for ocean water (better than the 10 and 12) and I think you should be just fine at Bean.

See ya out there sometime!

Is there an optimum time to launch and return as far as tides go?  Or basically get out there as early as possible to beat the afternoon winds?

I'll leave Fremont probably around 5am.

I quit smoking cigarettes yesterday, so I'm looking forward to the distraction, and working off some tension.

See ya'll there!

The marine forecast calls for good weather this Sat. so I should be there at about 6:30.

Ben, you bringing your killer craftsman lure?  Hard for the RF to resist that heavy metal.  I want to see you and Tim go at head to head...craftsman or snap-on.

Adam, follow the Mooch, he's got BH dialed in.

Andrew, if I catch an eel, its yours.

See you folks there,

Gary

If I can make it, I was thinking about dropping a crab trap for the red rock crabs. I know they aren't as meaty as the dungies but gotta go with what's in season.

I'll try to make this as well. Been a looong time since I fished up there, and it would be great to fish with company. If I miss it I'll hit north SC coast on sunday.
