I wasn’t super impressed by the size of the fish caught on the mothership trip. Not worth the effort guessing the SF fleet hits that pretty hard?

Ok so maybe it was dumb question. I was just looking for quality fish. Since I’m still new to this. I don’t have a list of launch spots. Just trying find out where it’s safe and within 2-3 hr drive lol. If some you want to PM me some launch spots up and down the coast I would really appreciate it.if there’s room for me to tag along at some of these places that’d be cool too.

def not a dumb question.

From my experience ( only 2 times to farallons ) I've had much the same experience at bean Hollow, Pidgeon point areas, and you don't have to crank something from 190 feet deep, and you don't have to pay to get out there, but that said I would think it would be a very fun trip to get out there on a decent day.

I saw that mother lode trip and was extremely jealous , I would love to fish out there. Now paddling out maybe not so much.

Last year I was out there on a Party boat and saw a group of 5 kayakers, everyone on the boat was talking about it hah.

Edub is sponsored by Headwaters Adventure Company, I don't think they sponsored the trip. I believe it was a trip put together by those in the video.

Not sure if you know this Al but the farallons is not a place you want to be at in a kayak. If a great white shark is the tax man, consider the farallons as the IRS main office....

More so than Bean Hollow?

Also watched the video and kinda surprised/disappointed Headwater sponsored a video where guys are wearing tshirts and no pfd's?

Well, it’s about 25 miles from the golden gate bridge...
And that was interesting seeing a group mothership out there—surprised they didn’t post it on here.

those fish they caught are babies, compared to all the trophies caught close to shore, here on this site alone. It looks and sounds cool, but all the partyboats go there, and they kill every fish....hence the smaller grade.

Sonoma Coast

Fort Ross
Timber Cove
Ocean Cove
Stillwater Cove North
Salt Point out of Gerstle Cove  (the cove itself is protected launching and landing only)

Just look for a hook up in the members only ( 10 posts needed) , ask if you can tag along and you dont have to go  "deep"  it`s all about finding structure

Good luck , be safe

P.S. Normally I`m not this much of a nice guy (not as bad as bmb ) but I`m bored AF rehabbing from back surgery and your from Pinole, I grew up around Hilltop ,pre mall LOL

These are the pretty standard launches north of you. Start reading old threads and you should be able to figure out all the normal spots as well as some good ones that people let slip  :smt044
