Hell, I'm scared to even take my kayak out to Half Moon Bay because of sharks, couldn't even imagine kayaking around the Farallon's.

1. I'm interests how one would get to the Farallon's in a kayak ?
2. would you have a shark shield ?

Not sure if you know this Al but the farallons is not a place you want to be at in a kayak. If a great white shark is the tax man, consider the farallons as the IRS main office....

Don’t know why my pic is sideways . Tried to change it but all come out the same. Saw the 2 videos of the same mothership trip but didn’t here if they were gonna do it again. As for the sharks. If you fished Pacifica this summer then you know you had plenty of company out there. Really just wanted to what’s next after salmon.

No more so than Ano Nuevo/ Pigeon Pt/Bean Hollow  (Practically speaking).  I can get #'s tomorrow.

Also watched the video and kinda surprised/disappointed Headwater sponsored a video where guys are wearing tshirts and no pfd's?

Perfectly doable with a mothership, and don't see how it's any more dangerous than the Pigeon Point vicinity IF you hold in a tight group. If there's an orca around, you're in the clear!

I don't really see the point in doing it, though, with the spots available up & down the coast. Even with closures and access limitations, there are still plenty of launches that still produce decent fish without the hassle of mothershipping.

Other thing is, if a situation does occur, you're a looong way from a hospital.

A little surprised as well but only a couple of 'em aren't wearing PFDs - I guess they figure it's all about individual responsibility...

Getting into a kayak after motoring a bunch of miles doesn't really make sense to me. I think the great thing about kayak-fishing is that it doesn't require a gas-guzzling boat. If I'm going out in a power boat I might as well fish from it.

It's comparable to driving somewhere with my bike and then riding around before loading up and driving home again. That undermines what's great about a bicycle.

Anyway, have fun and don't forget the Shark Shields!
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...
