22 other anglers mostly from the here on the Central Coast went on the Islander out of Fishermans Landing last week to spend two days at San Clemente Island. Weather was up a little so we had to stay on the front side but the fishing was pretty good and lots of fish around.

Definitely a bait bite this time around. Usually, I am able to get swimbait fish and followers but not the case.
All my catches came on live bait and good live bait was the key to getting the yellows.

I was able to land 6 of them over the 2 days and who knows how many fiesty Bonito and calicos lost count on them, but fun none the less.

Ill let the photos and the video do most of the talking.

The crew was great as always, booking was super simple through fishvillage.com

Get on the mailing list so you do not miss out for next years trip.

The new bait tanks look sweet!

1 month and 1 day until I'll be back aboard.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

Awesome underwater video and congrats on the beautiful yellowtail down at SCI!   The yellowtail are brutes at Clemente and must have been a fun and tiring experience on the kayak!

Looks like a great fishing trip to take. Just one questions how far in advance do you have put in for this trip?

We used to do NCKA only trips, but in 2017 the Islander raised their prices (at least what they quoted us) and we couldn't garner enough early interest to justify chartering a trip. If there's enough interest to give it another go in 2020 then I'd be willing to put in the leg work.

Chasing tuna with a boatload of strangers is awesome, but there's NOTHING like being on an Islander kayak mother-ship trip with 21 of the homies.
