I had a Solo Camping trip planned to Hearst San Simeon State Park, My nephew and his friend decided to come with, so that was nice.  We got about an hour north of the campsite at noon and fished some cliffs, happened across a couple of other anglers that already had a greenling, and a gopher, watched him catch a short cabby. but we just lost rigs left and right.

Got to camp and I got in the Kayak because wind wasn't as bad as the forcast,  didn't lose any rigs but didn't get any fish.

Day 2 we went back to the same area and tried a different cliff face, and we got some good bites.

I caught 2 Grassy Rockfish and a Cabezon, my nephew caught a Cabby, and so did his friend ( threw it back ).  Overall it was a great experience watching a fish in crystal clear water 50-100 foot down take your bait and explode out of the water!

I can't wait to go back, I just need to remember to buy all the weights in all the bait shops in San Jose before I go!

I fish a bobber with about 6 ft of leader and some squid off that type of cliff. It works and no lost gear!
