4/23

Fished Half Moon Bay today, really calm in the morning.  No wind and things were looking good.  Waited a couple of hours before the fish started biting...  Caught one small ling, had a BIG ling stripping line that I never saw... spit the bait before I got him close enough to see I spose... and almost lost my crab trap (tangled on the bottom in rocks?!)... 1 small dungee that I tossed back and 1 rock crab that i kept :-)

Ended the day w/ 1 ling, 1 cabby, and 1 greenling...  Beautiful weather...  :fishing1

As schwarzanegeer would say...  I'll be back.....!!! :smt067
We're gonna need a bigger boat!

Cool Aaron. Thanks for the photos and report! How many crab traps were you using? That sounds really slow if you didn't get any keeper dungies.

Super slow on the crabs... I soaked one trap for about 4 1/2 hrs...  Only one small dungee and the rock crab that I ate about an hour ago...  Yeah...  REALLY SLOW :-(
We're gonna need a bigger boat!

Nice cab. Did you happen to see someone in an inflatable kayak? He had the audacity to backup his truck into one of the only 2 open boat ramp lanes to make it easier to retrieve his gear. He didn't seem experienced and was wearing shorts.

thnx for the report for hmb

bummer about the crab :(

HMB would be prime spot for a combo trip, crab/rf/salmon

might have to hit it up soon.

I saw Nudling’s comment and it made me wonder: What is the correct launchramp protocol there?

Nudling's a dick...he doesn't own the boat ramp!   :smt005 :smt005

Based on what he's describing, seems like the dude wasn't all there if he was out at HMB in his shorts, then blocking up the boat ramp to load up an inflatable kayak, but thats just my opinion and I'm also a dick so... :smt044

Honestly though, whenever we are in a situation where boat ramp is the only launch option, its ideal that kayakers move their stuff to the side so that boaters can backup and get their boats out.  Especially if the kayakers are taking their time to load up their gear.
