Hi Outback owners, I have a 2014 Outback. Can I fit the new seat in my Outback? Or is there another option out there for a better seat? I am 62, still an endurance fisherman on the ocean, and my present seat is worn out. Thanks for any replies! Ron

Almost any kayak seat will work, as long as you are willing to make holes for the pegs that hold the Hobie seat in place.

I experimented with quite a few different things, and this is what I like best on my Adventure/AI. It's a fairly minor mod to the stock seat, but I find it to be a lot more comfortable. It might be worth considering, regardless of the seat you decide on.

A few links I found using the search function and  key words “ outback seat upgrade”. I bet you could find a few more if you did a thorough search

Those are all lawn chair style mods. Personally, I wouldn't do that, as it is likely to raise your center of gravity significantly and make the kayak less stable.

Nowhereman, I like your idea because of the center of gravity issue. Most of my use is on the ocean.   Where do you find those clips?  Thanks to all! Ron

This is what I used:

I think I've seen something similar at Bass Pro.
