I'm looking forward to this tournament!  What's the word, Chovy?  Are the halibut scattered by the recent rains?

I hope so!  That means more for us as it settles out for the tourney.

See you there.   :smt001
WHATTT?! :smt005 :smt007! Man, I wish I didnt have anything planned for that weekend. I would have love to hang out since I missed the GSXIII. Come June I will be in SC.

I think the halibut are around. I'll do a mid week scouting trip to let you guys know for sure.  But bay halibut has been pretty phenomenal this whole year. I would love to see a 30+ incher logged in.

Sorry I missed the registration but I just got cleared to attend.  I'll be coming down to fish and have a few beers with everyone though!  Mr. Nugyen, I sent you the $30 reg fee anyway.  Thought you could put it towards something good.  See everyone there!

Just joined the forum in order to ask a favor for the ARW event. Can someone lend me a radio for the day? This is an experiment for me to see if I can sit comfortably in a yak, long enough to land some halibut. Glad to give you what ever security deposit you need to be comfortable loaning your device for the event.

I have one for you.  I'm nearby you in El Cerrito.  Come find me at the event and I'll loan it to you for the day.

Ah crap. I was just gonna go to ARW this Saturday and didn't know about the tournament. Does that parking lot even hold 80 cars? Should I just go elsewhere for the day?

Update 5.27.2019

Ok guys,
There are few more days until event day and everything is coming together.
The weather looks to be holding with no rogue weather fronts in the horizon. (Fingers crossed)

TLA NOTES:

If you guys have extra Radios or PFD, can you bring them just in case. I'm sure someone is going to inadvertently forget to charge their battery or forget their PFD.  Just having a few extra around, just in case, can help a fellow angler out.

Feel free to bring a few dishes to share if you guys want. I know we have lots chefs in this group. However, lunch will be provided as part of the event.

Please carpool if you can.
When we had the 2017 tournament the parking situation wasn't an issue. However, the lot has been renovated but i think it still should be ok.
I sent out this email to all registered participants yesterday, but i'll also post it here just in case. See the email below.

<-------------------------------------->

Dear Participant,

Thank you for registering for the 2019 ARW tournament. We look forward to seeing everyone on June 1, 2019. Here are a few items to keep in mind before and on tournament day.

SAFETY Safety is the top concern for us. We want to make sure everyone has a great time and come home safely. Remember to bring a functioning PFD, and VHF radio--these are mandatory items for the event. The personal floatation device must be worn at all times during the course of the event, and channel 69 is the designated communication frequency for the VHF. Please keep the channel clear for emergency communication.

WAIVERS All participants must sign the mandatory safety waiver before launch. Moomoo Outdoors and I will be handling registration and waivers on event day. Please make sure to fill all waivers out completely. Only complete waivers will be accepted.

Parking & Launch There is limited parking space at the Encinal parking lot. We recommend carpooling with a friend if possible, and arrive early for the event. Participants can park in the designated parking spots and along the chain-fenced wall.

Participants can launch at the boat launch or the beach adjacent to the rock wall. Please keep one lane open for boaters.
Lunch and Awards: Lunch will be provided at 2:00 p.m. There will be a communal grill if you want to bring items to grill. The Awards ceremony will be at 2:30 p.m.

Thanks for registering and we look forward to seeing you at the event.

Tight Lines,

TLA and Moomoo Outdoors
