Great time at ARW!

Really nice job, Keith and Moo.  I'm wearing my tourney T-shirt right now, and, just like with my GS13 shirts, there's so much paint on your graphic that I feel like I have an area of extra protection and waterproofing!  I even dribbled some water out the side of my mouth while drinking, and it hit the graphic area and I was left totally dry!   :smt005

Congats to Kiel for landing a really nice halibut to take the crown of King of the Wall.

I caught 11 shorts out of 12 bites (don't ask me about that one missed bite   :smt010), so I was very happy with my presentation and landing percentage.  ARW is a really cool place to fish.  I also learned that when the tide turns and starts ripping out along the wall it's no joke - especially against the north/NW wind.  I went like 4 miles out toward the big ships to the left, then came back toward the wall for a bit before heading all the way over toward the airport and then all the way back to the end of the wall where the bite was hot right at the end of high tide and right before the wind kicked in.  Had to paddle hard to get back up the wall by just before 2PM.

I'll be back.   :smt001

Excellent event!

Got there early but wasn't in prime shape, chose to hit the outer mid wall and drift back on the big hole. Missed a tray full of hits early and just as I started worrying about running out of bait things slowed way down. Caught a screamer little bat ray and headed in on the sketch wind/outgoing tide run, was a fun sporty paddle back to food, beer and the crew.

Thanks for putting this on Keith and Moo, really enjoyed this event and the weather and conditions were optimum.

Cheers!

That was a great event Keith and Moo! You worked hard and it showed.

Congratulations to the winners and to Martianfish for breaking the skunk. Prayers for your wife.

I caught 2 keepers so I went home with a few dinners. I was happy.

Big Thanks to Keith and Moo for giving us a fun filled day!
You guys did a great job!!
My first time at the wall and got my first Kayak Halibut!!! 😛
Had some challenges  out there but managed to bring home a flattie!
Out of the gate my fishfinder was on the fritz, #1 pole  the reel was jacked up... so 15 min in, I’m trippin!  About an hour later I find the channel and wasn’t  long after the tide change I get my first kayak
24” Halibut!! That was a long time coming!  Talk about FUN!

Then I suffered a fishermans Heartbreak...
After I got  the shitshow cleaned up and put away I realized I hadn’t secured the stringer and lost the fish and stringer...  oh Man

What a terrible feeling  that is!!!!
But...
A ray soon after that and then a 23” redemption Hali later,
saved my day!
Holy Crap!    What a great feeling that was!  Wow!

Kudos to  Reelknots for taking 1st place!
As always it was nice to see The NCKA crew and meet some new ones!

Big thanks to Kieth, Moo and Sou! I had a blast pedaling an Outback for the first time. Maybe next time I'll land something large enough to filet.
