I was slammed for my recent post about kayak insurance by someone saying it was a waste of money and would never be needed. To me it seems incredibly cheep even if there is not much of a chance I would ever use it.

Events like this are the reason for having coverage.

Bushy, if you do loose one or both kayaks and do not have insurance start a "Go Fund Me" campaign and I would be happy to contribute.
I have kayak coverage under my homeowners insurance. I don't think it's a waste of money.

Sorry bro! That's rough! I'm surprised they got loose.

I'll be in SC tomorrow at Amadeos thing around 3. I'll bring binos and watch the forums.

Thanks Everyone for the good wishes an d open eyes around Santa Cruz to Moss.  CL, FB marketplaces etc.  I really believe hthey are out deeper now and I missed my (frst) chance to get them.  Most likely scenario still is that they washed up.  then it's just a matter of hoping to be contacted.  Did I have my name DL# or other contact info inscribed on the boats?  No.  Doh! Plenty of Santa Cruz Kayak Fishng Stickers and NCKA Stickers and even Kokotat stickers, but I think they have a tendency to shred off in the shorebreak along the rip-rap.

Still have my PDL and two MX's so I am covered for personal and guide fishing thanks all for the offers.  Plus, Dave Johnston says I can use any of his boats any time.  He has rigged Prowler 13's at the wharf for rent. I'll give it a few weeks and then start looking at getting another flagship.

Was in Half Moon Bay Friday with a friend crabbing the marina and trying just outside the harbor.  The wind was ridiculous, as were the swells.  Had the day off and we knew what we were getting into... only got a few crabs.  The wind was blowing straight out towards the deep angry sea... possibly where your yaks are headed.

If a go-fund-me account is started, I'll definitely be contributing.  Hope all works out Allen!
We're gonna need a bigger boat!

There will be a "NO-FUND-ME" Account, haha.  Greedy and self-centered as I am, losing a couple boats is easy for me to accept. Bow to the majestic power of the Ocean!  Makes for a great story.  And, I still have three kayaks for pleasure and guide business... One is a PDL, so maybe it's not 'really' a kayak, but it serves well.

Seriously, with the disasters and health crises some of our members heroically face, losing a couple boats means nothing.  Not that I don't want them back, I do.  But  am covered. If we all keep a lookout for sales and such that would be great. CL and FB marketplace, wherever. 16' Yellow Ultra 4.7 and 12' Predator MX grey (Urban Camo).  And, of course eyes on the beaches for washups who know how the story will end?

Thanks so much my brethren!

Bush

Going back out now with binoculars for a coastal review.

Bushy,

I just saw your vid. I wouldn't be surprised if your yak is at the bottom of the ocean somewhere in that area full of sand and water.

Must of sucked to just watch it getting tossed around like that.  :smt009

How's the arm/shoulder doing?
