Hi all,  just wanted to say thanks for letting me join. I've had PB's for 30+ years. My wife and i have been kayaking for over a year and love it. When I concluded that I can catch the all the same fish with a kayak than with my boat , I sold one of my boats, 16' Arima SC. Just got tired of all the maintenance involved, gas, towing, and fees involved in owning a boat, even when it sat, Lol.  We currently have Pescador Pilots, but are soon looking at Hobies. We do a lot of trolling the local lakes for trout, kokanee and Delta stripers, but our love is SF bay halibut, and soon looking to catch my first salmon and yellowtail out of a kayak. It's boring out of a boat.Lol. I  joined to get some good knowledge from all of you and maybe give advise to those looking to buy their first boat or fishing off a boat.

Hi all,

My name is Stephen, user name biggerthanyours. I live in Clovis/Shaver Lake, CA. I purchased a couple of used Hobie Outbacks for fishing with my brother Tom and I’m setting one up now for Striper, Salmon and Steelhead fishing for the American River in Sacramento. My brother Tom (that’Â’s why I got two kayaks) lives in Sacramento and I enjoy fly fishing with him. I also plan on using the kayaks for trout fishing, but interested in Â’Striper, Salmon and Steelhead. I prefer fly fishing in rivers, but not opposed to using baitcasters or spin casting for success.

I am also interested in fishing the Delta for Stripers, the ocean for Halibut, Rock fish, large Lingcod and Salmon on a kayak. But, I don’t know the areas to fish, the different techniques and gear required to allow for success. Your experience and assistance would be greatly appreciated. [emoji848][emoji106]

Boats are nice, but damn they expensive... everyone wants to go fishing no one wants to share the cleaning and maintenance.......
They just grab their gear and run... 😂

I know that feeling.. every time me and my buddy go out, i get the chore of cleaning and storing the kayaks away by myself. he doesn't have anything. it's all on me!

It'll never get boring in a kayak. Hope to see you on the water.

Exactly to both quotes! Which is why my wife has been my best fishing partner the last 15yrs. Thanks to all for the welcome.
