So I am thinking of purchasing the above as my second yak. What do you think a fair price (for both buyer and seller) is for the above? Comes with all standard stuff, good condition and a hook5. Any thoughts on the PA14 2014 would be appreciated too.

Thanks in advance!

Pros
Stable,roomy,tons of storage
Con
Heavy,slow,heavy,heavy

If your always fishing with a buddy then your good otherwise you might want to keep an eye out for a trailer
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Why a trailer when the thing has a set of wheels? Is there something I am missing about this boat? Currently I have a Kraken 13.5 and just put wheels under the balance point, it's weightless (unless I am dragging through sand). I know the PA14 is ~40lbs heavier but I put kayaks in my truck bed so, not lifting onto the top of a vehicle either. The slow thing is more a concern to me. The Kraken seems pretty fast compared to others I've paddled.

Any ideas on price?

Exactly what Mienboy said.  Its super comfortable, but that yak is slow and takes a lot of effort to keep it going vs other hobie models.  Its a knee buster for sure.

That being said, it was still one of my favorite yaks to use in freshwater for bass fishing.   :smt003

As far as price, I've seen them anywhere from $2500- 3000 depending on condition.

I love my PA, but around that price point personally I would go new or at least wait for one with the 180 drive.

Wheels won't help you load it in your truck. The thought of lifting that thing wants to kill my back, and I have a lot of freaking heavy kayaks. I would never get an PA14 without a trailer. A PA12 was awful enough by itself.

My brother bought a PA12 and six months later he needed back and neck surgery.

Coincidence? I think not!  :smt010 :smt010 :smt010

My PA 12 isn’t too bad. I load it in the bed of my truck easily. It’s super slow but super stable.
