Join Kayak Connection Saturday, June 17 for a great fishing contest at Loc Lomond in Zayante.  A Prowler angler donated by Ocean Kayak will be the first place prize.   Releases and Entry Forms are available at Kayakconnection.com  The fishing should be epic with catches available on trout, bass, channel catfish, and crawdad's.  The season is wide open for your fishing pleasure.  It would be nice to have more participation from the youth and female classes.  The heaviest fish wins. Lunch included.

All the entry fees are donated to the Monterey Bay Salmon and Trout Project . www.mbstp.org .   Founded in 1976, the Monterey Bay Salmon and Trout Project (MBS&TP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the restoration and enhancement of the native salmon and steelhead populations of the greater Monterey Bay area. To accomplish the goals of the MBS&TP has developed three major programs:
    * Coho Salmon and Steelhead
    * Chinook Salmon Enhancement Check out the release pens at the Santa Cruz and Moss Landing Harbors
    * Salmon and Trout Education (STEP)
Over 240,000 King Salmon were released from our new Santa Cruz and Moss Landing pens in May and June 2005.

Fathers you owe it to your kids to take them fishing and have lots of fun.  Take the morning off or bring the family and make a day of it.  Special prizes for kids and women.  The following website http://www.ci.santa-cruz.ca.us/wt/llra/llra.html  shows you pictures of the Loch, a map and directions, natural and cultural history and of course rules of the lake for instance opening time is  6 AM.
Look for 2 folding tables with a gas stove.  Come by and weigh in your fish.  Contest ends at noon, lunch begins hotdogs with fixin's, and awards ceremony follows.
Go to http://www.kayakconnection.com/ download a registration form and signup now.  All donations will be donated to a good cause Monterey Bay Salmon and Trout Restoration Project and education program.

Read the following article and learn how to catch a prize winning fish.

Come join the fun.

Yeah, I've noticed!  :smt002 I'll be there no matter what day it is--not that I'll catch anything but Mark and Margaret (Kayak Connection) are super people and have been good to me over the years. See ya there, Papa Bill?

Hey all,

My final exams are next week on tuesday and wednesday (2 3 hour exams on tues and 1 3 hour exam on wed).  I will be back to defend my honor.

Beer school has indeed been intense.  I am now in job seeking mode yet again.

I think I'm in... it will be only my third time kayak fishing, and I've only got a clunky SIK, and no FF, but I'm feeling lucky and this is a great excuse to flex some beginer's luck and get a new SOT yak...
