Just spoke to Chuck (fellow flip)....he might be able to attend the derby - and if so, he'll bring a fryer and I'll bring some lumpia to fry. I still plan to do a little fishing once the derby is over - might as well make a day out of it :smt002

I suggest everyone bring some stuff to share - I can bring a grill if need be. Might as well turn this event into another NCKA party  :kick

I called Kayak Connection just to find out which Ocean Kayak model was first prize.  They couldn't tell me for sure, but they said it'll likely be a Prowler Big Game.  Personally, I was hoping for a winners choice like they did last year, and then maybe, the winner might have the option of choosing the new Prowler Trident.  Oh, well...

Sorry.... I'm not sure yet.   Actually, I'm less inclined to go if the prize is a Big Game.  I just don't want or need something that big.

Besides, my WAF is at an all time low for being gone the past three weekends in a row for Big Sur, San Diego, and HMB.

Just spoke to Mark of KC....the prize will be a Prowler (standard kayak - not the fishing edition) of your choice (P15,P13 or the Big Game) The Trident MIGHT be choice - that will all depend on what Mike Mowrey - the OK Nor Cal rep.

I will try to get hold of Mike and see what he has to say about the Trident - will keep you guys posted.

...just an update - got off the phone with Mike Mowrey - The Trident will be part the prize choice for the winner. Again, it will be the basic package (no rudder...) and you'll have to wait till it gets mass produced = I have no idea when that will be.

So there you go!

Mooch, I'm 6'1"... so I should fit the P15... I've got everything else I need... I still plan to brink my Necky-SIK but definately want to give the P15 a spin... If my body cooperates with my brain I'll be at the gate around 6'ish to score one of the much-covetted rampside parking spots.

Oh, since it sounds like the makings of a party, I'll bring some wild boar sausages from a couple pigs I killed up at Lake Sonoma about six weeks ago... most people think it's the best sausage they've ever had.

Cheers, Backcountry
