Pat,

Bayside at the Santa Cruz harbor has really big swimbaits (8-10 inch scampies and grubs) and lead heads (up to 8 oz and maybe more).  I picked some up last month in preparation for big lings.  If you like, PM me and I can pick some up for you before the company I work for moves from Santa Cruz to San Francisco.  I can easily stop there at lunch and often do.

That jigs and rigs website has inexpensive diamond jigs also.  I'm thinking about loading up.  I've only used the 10" swimbaits a couple times.  Having the tail nibbled off a $3 body by fish no bigger than the bait itself sucks.  Only drop em where the big boys live and schoolies don't exist.  Used Fatbaits from Ly's in SJ, not sure what their selection is like now but they usually have a good selection of large grubs and scampis.

Look back at your website under "stuff". They've got 6" and 10" swimbaits and shad.

Kalins makes some pretty huge ones too.  No swim bait IMHO works as well as a feeble little blue for the big ones.

berkley makes some nice 8" powerbait grubs now. bought 'em havent tried 'em.
not cheap. $2 each. could be cool slow trolled on a bottom bounce rig.

the kalin 10" ones are a little big. I have fished it, got hits but no hookups so far.

A 7" fishtrap or big hammer swimbait has worked for me a number of times.

Unless the lingcod are fighting eachother to eat your bait, you're probably best off with a 6-8" swimbait/scampi on a leadhead that's big enough to get you down there.  A 50lb ling wouldn't turn down an 8" swimbait unless a 5lb ling beat him to it (and then he'd probably eat the 5lb ling).
