That is a HUGE trout!

Good job Joel! :headbang: :hello2:

Thanks Al!

Forgot to mention: when I gutted the trout, it looked like it had just laid it's eggs recently....I saw a few leftover eggs in it. I was also surprised to see that the fish had pink meat on it  :smt118 Almost salmon-like!
In the end, Mom was happy  :smt001 She had not gotten any fresh fish from her son lately  :smt011

Mooch:

Fins will heal, but they never quite look the same.  That said the ones in Del Valle are out of the norm...damn big trout for a lake though.

Wow Joel,  nice trout (almost as nice as Jelly's striper).  How come you haven't posted it or any fish for that matter on the AOTY site yet?  Or are you a little intimidated by all of Sean's early fish.

Speaking of Sean... Sean did you just get "jellied" again?  I can't imagine Chris typing "That said the... damn big trout"  Then again he did just catch a monster striper and may be sporting a bit of an attitude.

Primo, I'm telling you that "little sponge bob minnow catcher net" is going to be the net I land the winning Elk ling with.   :smt044
Now I know that when I fish with skilled fisherman such as yourself I should carry a crab net to land the fish with.

I guess I'm going to have to learn how to turkey call and carry tuna fish sam'iches so I can catch big fish like you.   :smt003

I'm just glad I didn't get skunked...it was getting close though.

Good day out...it got pretty wet and windy for a bit but it was a good group to tough it out with.

Angel....I must say, Liz is such a trooper  :worship Despite the fact that she no longer had "feeling" in her hands - due to the cold and rainy conditions we faced, she managed to paddle along (and never complained) AND she also kicked your butt by outfishing you again.....for the second time :smt002 sorry primo....but I just had to say it :smt002 But you know I got your back  :smt066 Next time we fish with her, I'll smear some vick's vapor rub on her spool  :smt077

Liz wouldn't have outfished me if I didn't have bait your hook  :smt044

It's all good, I'm sure there will be penty more times when she kicks my butt.  I'm just going to have to learn how to cheat better...I'm still giving the power bait stuffed minnow some though.  Sometimes we gotta do what we gotta do.
