I caught 6 SMB, one trout and managed to convince this little crappie to hit my risto rap as I trolled back to the launch ramp...

Despite the weather, the Boy Scouts were out camping at the Hetch Hetchy campsite - very cool 
Now that the water level is high at Del Valle, I really think we should do a Derby and rent this awesome group campsite   

Boy with all that action, got to get me a KAYAK  But what would my faithful ELECTRIC BOAT think.Great outing guys and liz. Your imput keeps my heart pumping.While you were KAYAKing i was putting on a fishing clinic for the kids of Newark,Fremont and whom ever showed up. Was a great experance got my      for the day Enjoyed as much as going fishing.There is still a good group of kids out there waiting for the knowledge and some one to take them fishing They are the future   

It was pouring at times on the lake, but turned into a fairly reasonable day.  Great fishing with you all!!

"pouring" had to be an understatement yesterday. On the San Mateo Bridge and on Hwy 101 at 10 am, it was very close to whiteout conditions.

Dude, that is one football of a trout!  Incredible.  I've yet to bust double digits on a trout, major accomplishment man.

i was putting on a fishing clinic for the kids of Newark,Fremont and whom ever showed up. Was a great experance got my      for the day Enjoyed as much as going fishing.There is still a good group of kids out there waiting for the knowledge and some one to take them fishing They are the future   

Way to go Ray  I salute you for doing such a great deed for the future generation of anglers  There's no better feeling than "passing on the torch" onto the "younglings"

My offer still stands - anytime you wanna give kayaking a try, I'd be more than happy to get a tandem kayak and take you out for a spin

Lotta big fish died this weekend!  Thats a slug.  Looks like a good time.

What is up with the fins on those Del Valle trout???  I can't believe that thing was recently planted, but its fins never heeled...

Sean - this trout is a "special breed", it's called "the diamond shaped fin trout"  

Question for ya: DO the fins "heal and grow" after a period of time? I figure they don't cause like the steelhead, they don't grow back their adipose fin once it's clipped right?

Congrats on that big boy Mooch I like the trout on the kayak photo the best.

Thanks Pat! When I pitched the minnow right next to the stick-ups, I was expecting a largemouth or a crappie to hit. When I finally got a good look at it, I pushed the panic button and all hell went on the loose  Still bumed I lost my "floating" net  It has served me well over the years 

That is a HUGE trout!
