Angel... it's so cool to see your wife Liz out there with you fishing.  She's definitely a trooper to be out there in the rain with the boys.

I also remember my wife's first time kayak fishing.  She outfished me by catching a small dorado in Baja.

Thanks Chuck, she's definetely a trooper.  She's been fishing just shy of a year now and she's really starting to get the hang of it (as you can see she keeps catching more fish than I do).  Sometimes she wants to go out fishing when all I want to do is relax at home.

minor correction though... no rings or vows involved in this relationship.

Pat...it's still a mystery to me  I've had this net since my float tubing days and I've dropped it the water a million times and it always stayed afloat. I'm thinking the aluminum tube probably developed a small crack in it and got water logged....anyway, I'm currently shopping for another Fresh water net.....I'll end up getting something similar...I really, really liked that net....if I could just remember where I bought it ....I don't even remember the brand   

I really shoulda made an effort to retrieve it....I was in less that 10 feet of water

Ben....I didn't say I was going to retrieve it myself.....I was thinking of hiring Fuzz to dive in for it   

Mooch when you find or figure out where you got it let me know, I saw it on your kayak the first time we meet I was going to ask where you got it.

Yep.

This reminds me of a fly fishing buddy of mine from float tube days BFK (before kayak). He lost a nice rod and a Ross reel at the Forebay from his float tube one stormy evening. He went back two weeks in a row with scuba gear until he found it.

Actually, I still rendezvous with him every once in a while at the Forebay, me in a kayak and he in a float tube (haven't converted him yet). He's a good fly fisher, but I seem to cover the water better and catch more lately.

And I take great satisfaction in that. I am humble enough to know it is not me per se--it is the kayak that is superior but I'll take credit for being clever enough to try new things (actually older things but I digress) and change for the better. And in that I take great satisfaction in having found the kayak as a fishing vehicle. Ohcrud I fell misty and want to write a Haiku now. NOT! Later dawgs.
