I love my Caribbean 14.  However, the standard seat squeaks whenever I paddle.  Not a little pipsqueak, but a fish-scaring squawk that distracts me and prevents an ultra-stealth approach.  I don't think it comes from rubbing on the deck -- seems like it's in the seat itself.  I don't remember this kind of problem in my old Trident boat.

So what do y'all recommend as a replacement seat for said boat?  Thanks.

Andy

I was fishing today in my C14. I never noticed any noises from my seat. I have the older stock seat. 2013. I believe last year Eddyline upgraded the seat. Looks good. It just seems kinda odd that a seat could make a noise so loud as to disturb the quality of fishing.

If it truly is a problem send Eddyline a message. They are known for listening to the wants and needs of the consumer.
So I am told.

I have a C12 and the seat squeak drives my crazy. I usually put an old towel behind and under the seat.

While at the last ISO, I noticed Headwaters had a C14 or C12 with a molded seat insert that fits in the seat well between the seat and the kayak. Great idea.

You might contact Dan at Headwaters for more info or to order one.

Check with Dan from the Headwaters, he may be able to have Eddyline send you a padding that goes under the seat.

Yep. I loved my Caribbean 12 when I had it and still miss it. But that seat squeak was prominent and annoying. I'm sure there is a remedy for the older models, assuming the new seats don't have that issue. Yes, Dan would be a good source of information.

I have Nick's old C12 and haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary. But now I'll probably hear it every time I fish, now that I'm consciously listening for it...thanks guys! :-(  haha
I use a seat that I got from Bushy--believe it's called a Cloud 10 seat. But the funny thing is when I just googled it (to recommend as a possible solution), it says made by Eddyline LOL...sooo, nevermind.

If Cen Coast and bmb don't hear a squeak, perhaps body type is the variable, or I have a squeaky butt. Glad you guys are/did enjoy the great lady. I shall hoist an extra Jameson in her honor tonight.

Thanks for all the replies.  I thought about getting a Cloud 10 seat, since that is what the new Eddyline Caribbeans come with, evidently an upgrade from my 2014 seat.  I emailed customer support at Eddyline and they suggested I try the glue-on Seat Pan Liner that also comes on all the new boats.  Much cheaper, so I'll give that a shot first.  I'll let you know if it silences my butt-holder.

do they sell the seat pan liner separately?  My seat slides around slot and that might be the fix I need.

Thanks for posting bmb, I looked online the other day and couldn't find it, I guess I need to look harder next time.

Eddyline customer service is the best. I sent them an email asking for ideas to resolve the seat squeak and they suggested the seat pan liner. It showed up on my doorstep today. I'll install it this weekend

Thank you Eddyline! :smt006
