What does this mean for the average Joe?
Is it still going to be accessible for fishing?

Could not verify if the sale took place but Jaffa Parks is s large mobile home retirement park developer with founders -of course - who are connected to Goldman Sacks and various Hedge Funds.  If the 'sale' actually took place I would not be optimistic about access.  I guess we have to wait and see.  I thought Marin County had been regulating the use of his property and was moving to more of a park setting for it in the future.  I know the Drakes Estero Oyster farm was under a great deal of pressure to close ( and maybe they already have) so I wonder how (if it's true) a Wall Street connected mobile home park could get their hands on Dillon Beach?

My neighbor said the old guy at the gate found out about the sale through a family friend who had contact or worked at the real estate office which brokered the sale ,  no mention from his employer or manager..  hmmm

Are we talking about Dillion beach or Lawson's landing?

Jaffa Parks connection to an employee who is attempting to build 13 homes in Marin/unincorporated Mill Valley. I'm not gonna offer an opinion. I used to live a few miles from this area before moving out of state. I'll let the comments section of the article speak for the neighborhood's feeling towards this.

Drake's Bay Oyster Company was a totally different thing. It was on National Seashore land (National Park Service) and NPS refused to renew their lease after complaints from marine mammal protectors and others. Even Senator Feinstein wrote to the NPS asking them to reconsider, and they didn't. Odd because oysters filter the water, yet the dozen or so cattle companies, with all their run-off, were left alone. Rant ended.
Warning! Retiree; Knows it all and has plenty of time to tell you about it.

Just to put a period at the end of the story I asked Jaffa what's up.  They responded pretty quickly:

Hi Gary,

Thanks for the heads up - that's awesome that you're a kayak angler! I used to work for Outward Bound's sailing and sea kayaking program in Washington State years ago, and some of my coworkers hauled in some unbelievable salmon off their kayaks.

We have absolutely nothing to do with Lawson's Landing, and I don't know anything about activities over there. We are studying the Dillon Beach Resort, which is totally separate.

Hope this clears things up!

Best,

Dave

Lawson's Landing and Dillon's Beach are two different entities.

Ask him what he plans on doing to Dillon and whether or not it will impact fishing...assuming that was your original question to him.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

Ok. Some how I thought Vic meant Lawson landing was sold.
That's great news for anyone who wants to use Lawson landing.
