Looking to get a whole roast piggy for the AOTY/DOTY awards ceremony on 2/11 at Big Break Marina in Oakley.

http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=76735.0

Have sent out a few feelers to various folks but haven't got any concrete responses yet..

If anybody knows where to get one and is willing to pick it up and bring it on Saturday 2/11 I can PayPal $ ahead of time, or pay cash at event.

Thanks in advance!!

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

Found this Jim. Ong Pin in South SF.http://www.ongpin.com/

Have not tried them so do not know the quality or flavor.

They have the prices on their menu for whole pig.

Wish the guy I normally go to would get back to me because they normally give me a 90lbs pig for the same price Ongpin sells their 60lbs pigs.

Has any of our NCKA peeps that live on the SF side ever tried Ongpins lechon???

Bring a live one and we can practice for Albion!  :smt003
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

I helped (mostly watched) Allen (Polepole) clean up after using his China box to cook one.... Lot of work!!! Sure was good though!
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

you need to be more specific how big 40-60-80 or more lbs are you roasting or reheating lot of good pigs in Turlock as in pig farms
tons of Chinese / Filipino restaurants will do a pig but will need some time to prepared and may need a few days

roasting can take a full day even more if its a big pig

This is the place ChuckE recommended:

http://tastebudscuisine.com/lechon/

Looks awesome, but also looks like you need to pay in person 3 days before event? What a pain... :smt012

Quote
In an ongoing effort to protect our customers from Identify Theft/Fraud, we will NO LONGER accept credit cards over the phone for payment of any order. Orders for Lechon, Party Trays, and Catering may be placed over the phone under the understanding that the customer will make final payment in person no later than 3 days prior to the date order is needed. Only at the time full payment is made will orders will be deemed confirmed and processed by our kitchen.

Darius, if you have a place close to you (or if this place is close to you??) and would be willing to help out that would be killer!

Not sure on size, or uncut or pre-cut...maybe some of you guys know?

Jim
