For sunglasses, I like a company called Suncloud, they are Smith sunglasses, but really cheap. I like them because they have all the feel and features of expensive glasses but are cheap. Plus I have a pro deal so 25 bucks shipped :smt003
I only fish on days that end with Y

No doubt that Oakleys are not on the same league.  But all sunglasses won't see too well with a dried up salt water spot :)  Make sure you have a sunglasses strap so you don't curse yourself in case of a spill.

Yep. That is why when an online site was clearing out cheapo Colombia polarized glasses ($4-10 each), I bought a dozen of them. This way, if when they get scratched or lost, I shrug and pull out another pair.  I lost a nice pair of Bolles one of my first times out, live and learn!

They say if you love it leash it or be sure it floats!  $20 hunting plastic lenses here because if I spent $200 on a pair of sunglasses I'd have to love them cuz my wife would devorce me  :smt044 cheap works fine for and is "cheap" to replace.

Even if I had a leash around it... i would still end up losing. Me and high end commodities on the water don't mix. However, $10 sunglasses from the gas station have never failed me.

i own costa 580g blue lens on catcay frames but it mostly stays in the case (until i fish socal).  too dark for overcast morning fishing.  i got 4 pairs of cheap flying fisherman glasses with brown polarized lens.  these work great in low and all light, fit my face perfectly, and are light (compared to costa) so easy to wear all day!  if you do costa, make sure you get the correct lens color for the fishing you do :smt004

Thanks, guys. All good of my previous Costas have had grey glass lenses (400 series glass, I believe). I like the grey for all-around use on and off the water. I'll probably go with grey again, unless those Tuna Alleys fit me and I can score a good deal.

Costas there is no substitute!  I've worn Costas ever since I bought my first pair in Cabo a long time ago.  Go for the 580P lenses.  They are expensive but worth it.

I suggest trying on multiple pairs until you find ones that fit perfectly.  You won't be happy if you don't.

The grey/smoke color lens are great for bright sunny days, but I usually wear my amber lenses for everyday all around use.  Amber works great for foggy, overcast days and cold dark water.  My Costas with the smoke blue mirrored lenses work good for bright days and clear water like tropical waters or high mountain lakes.

Another thing to take into consideration, is glass lenses vs. plastic lenses.  To me, the glass lenses are more clear but heavy on the nose.  Plastic lenses will scratch easier but are easier to wear for long days.

I have the brown ones too, and love them for driving.  Especially in the woods where it can often be sunny, yet dark, cuts the glare on the road and can see clearly.  At what 15-20$ I have 3 pairs right now  :smt003

Had a pair of Costas, loved them, someone walked away with them on a boat trip, I was not happy. Now I'm a fan of Costco sunglasses ...Timberland, Hobie, Champion, Kirkland whatever all around 30 bucks...decent quality for the price. If I loose them or someone walks away with them ...oh well, tough !

If you want Costa's and are qualified to sign up for experticity(promotive), many of the Costa models are on sale for $50. I've bought a couple pairs off there.

After searching road biking forums for info on cheap but good sunglasses, I kept finding Pyramex Ztek (safety) glasses mentioned. They wrap around and have good coverage, don't have any distortion (to my eye), come in lots of shades (dark grey, clear, orange, yellow, etc.) which are good for different conditions on the bike and off, and don't look bad (and fit my big head well). Plus I think are under $2 a pair. Bought like 8-10 pairs five years ago for about $15 and still have half a box untouched. Highly recommended.

I am going to get one to try out.

My prescription sunglasses ended up on the bottom of the Monterey Bay (unless some shark is now wearing them). No great loss as the needed to be replaced, but that's not going to happen for a while. So, I got some $20 polarized shades at BPS, and they are surprisingly good. That's all I plan on using when kayaking from now on.

I really like the polarized lenses in Revo sunglasses, particularly the brown lenses vs the gray ones. I have both a pair of Maui Jims and a pair of Revos and I feel they are of equal quality.
