HAHA! I made it all the way up to a 60# set up with my Mak15/Phenix Axis. If I need an 80 or 100 I'll be renting from the boat.

Huge price difference from the November trip. October trip should be lots of fun.

This was filmed a few years ago, but it's over the same time period I'm taking my trip.

Damn, I've learned so much since starting this thread.

I'm heading to S.D. tomorrow for my 10 day trip on the Intrepid that's leaving Sunday morning.

The June trips this year turned out to be just so-so. Mostly yellowtail and some small tuna and tiny dorado. Looks like I made the right call to wait until November. The Intrepid hit the rocks yesterday and had a pretty good score of wahoo and some nice dorado. Pretty sure that will be one of the first stops on my trip.

Weshould get the ball rolling for a 3 or 4 day trip next year while there is still spots available on some of the nicer boats...

Yeah November is a good time.  There are several Humboldttuna members that go on 7-10 day trips every November

Custom United Composites 76 Predator w/Trinidad 20a for wahoo bombs, wahoo live bait, and yo-yo jigging. I may also put a Talica 12ii on the rod for 50lb live bait.
Rainshadow RCJB84XXH w/Okuma Makaira 15ii Sea for 60lb live bait
Phenix Axis 820XH w/Penn Torque 30ld2 for 60lb live bait.
Phenix Black Diamond 809XHJ w/Talica 10ii for 30/40lb live bait
Phenix Megalodon  Spinning rod w/Shimano Twin Power 14K for wahoo bombs and heavy poppers.
Black Hole 801h Spinning rod w/Shimano Saragosa 8k for wahoo bombs and light poppers.
