I like the small dry bag set-up.  We stopped by Fry's on our way home from the Kings game today. Bought the charger and enough batteries for two sets. They had holders up to 8 cells, but no 10 cell. :smt012
Checked Radio Shack online and didn't see 10 cell holders there either.
So I ordered some from the link Tote shared. Thanks Mike!

Thank you all for the ideas, tips and links. :smt006

I was thanking Mike (Tote) for the battery holder link.

But I will also thank Sean for the idea and great article.

BTW: I was actually reading the operations manual for my Cuda and noticed a reference to the Cuda portable power pack. It uses the 8 cell AA holder. The unit is rated 10 to 17 volts. I'll set mine up with the 10 cell.

Thanks Pat. My ff didn't come with a fuse...I have a 10 AA holder coming, and I'm going with the dry baggie setup. Cheers.

I have a 10 AA holder coming,...

Ooooh, am I stoked!!! :smt041 Today I found 10 AA holders locally (for me, that is) for $1.72 each. Al Lasher's Electronics in Berkeley (University Ave.) had 10-12 of them. Now they only have 8! Next I'm on a hunt for the 2-pin trailer hitch plugs because Lasher's had just sold out...but that's for another day. How much fun can a person endure in one day?  :smt003

Big J,

In your neighborhood you can drop in at Kragen's or Pep Boys for the "waterproof" trailer hitch two prong connections.  While you're there you could pick up a fuse holder and some dielectric grease (if you don't already have some) to coat your power supply plugs.

Happy shopping,

Gary
