Wow... We see things VERY differently. From this post, it sounds like Trump represents you just fine. You both seem to think things are best when a man is the "head of the household" and women take on some diminished role as a home-maker or housewife. Your post above is pretty much a textbook definition of male chauvinism. Do you realize that?

Yes, of course I understand that I am the textbook definition of male chauvinism.  But for anyone who doesn't actually know that definition, here it is;
excessive or prejudiced loyalty or support for one's own cause, group, or gender.

So, If I'm a male chauvinist, then what does that make any other group, LGBT, Women, Blacks, etc?  Aren't THEY chauvinistic to their own cause or group or gender?  I certainly see it that way.  From my point of view, everyone out there is chauvinistic  (I prefer the term prejudiced) to their opinion on just about any topic you can name.  Who's grand kids are cuter, yours or mine?  Who's got the better wife?  The smarter dog?  The best 'what ever'?  We each rationalize our choices.  With prejudice.  If we didn't think ours was the best, we'd do something about it.  Blacks, women, LGBT, you name it, they thought the other guy, the WHITE GUY, had it better than they did, so they did something about it.  But somewhere along the way, they made 'whitey' out to be the blame for their predicament.  Like a petulant child, everything was someone else's fault and usually that someone else was someone they could manipulate into some sort of negotiation to better their situation.  None of these special interests takes any responsibility for their situation.  There is no accountability for their own actions.  It's always someone else's fault!   So Whitey sought to help these poor fools who couldn't figure out that they were empowered to be in charge of their own destiny.  And what did that get 'em?  Just more of the same.  After all, it worked, so who's gonna give up the goose that lays the golden egg?  Keep Whitey feeling guilty, trying to help and all the while he'll keep trying to right their perceived wrongs done to their special interest group.  Never a thank-you, always a hate, hate, HATE toward these oppressors since that's what motivates them to give in to their special interest demands.  It's one thing to seek out equal rights for all people.  But that has come and gone a long time ago.  There simply are not any of these special interests individuals in this nation who doesn't have the same chance as any white man of equal status.  (Meaning, they were good citizens with a work ethic and enough self respect to try and make their own way in this world.)
Here in California, we've even reduced and eliminated criminal activities based on race.  Crimes of theft under $900 is now a ticket.  No booking.  How do you feel if someone stole your kayak?  A ticket and send him down the street?  That kayak represents a lot of sweat off MY brow, I don't know about yours.  My life, I traded my life's hours, tick, tick, tick, and someone who's mammy sat him on her knee and told him how Whitey owed him due to his suppression because of his color.  Or because of his, gender.  Or because of his sexual orientation.  Why, you'd think I should apologize it's not a better kayak for them to take from me, for all the wrongs I've done.
So when does their hate for ME stop?  I never hated any one I've never had occasion to actually be personally harmed from. I don't hate Muzlums.  (for example)  Far as I know, none have ever even said hello to me or me to them.  But there's a whole lot of 'em that want American Satanists dead.  (A term, BTW, envoked long before Donald.  He didn't get Muzlums to hate Americans.  He's just trying to keep them from fulfilling their threats on our nation's citizens.)

Before I get too far off topic here, I'll just figure this is enough on the 'chauvinism' issue.  I'm proud that I have strong opinions.  Certainly none of these special interests out there have held back on how they feel about how they are being treated, so why should I?

I had the best day today. I worked. I made money. I paid taxes. I ate good food. I loved my job today. I worked with an 18 year old kid who I just love hanging with and teaching. Then............... I went to my high school buddys house and he gifted me three cleaned dungeness crabs. Then I gifted him 4 Mallard duck breasts that I was given. After all that........................ I went to deposit my check at the BofA outside teller where the person before me left his receipt in the machine. i called after him and he started back towards me and in true knee jerk fashion I glance at his receipt( dang it) 104,000.00 in checking hahahahaha I give him a thumbs up and we exchange knowing smiles. Then we both laughed. I go back to the machine and next to me is a hispanic sheet metal worker. I tell him the story and we both laugh. Then I show him my receipt. yep 397.00 in my checking LOL!!!! Remember the cleaned crabs in my truck? I think for exactly 10 seconds and call to the sheet metal dude. I holler to him" hey, do you like crab?" He says oh yes I do. I go back to the truck pick the biggest one out and gift him a nice dungie. We smile. We smile and fist bump. I dont know about your America but mine was AWESOME today. My town of Petaluma is the best. Thats all. I'm smiling from ear to ear right now. Knowing that for today and just for today my higher power sent me some love.

I posted this yesterday on FB.  Tomorrow I'm taking my grandson to Clear Lake for his first kayak fishing trip on my Predator. As far as I can tell this country is the melting pot of the world.

That is a gross misunderstanding of how it works. Late-term abortion never ever... EVER... happens as an elective abortion. There are only like three doctors in the entire country who will do a late term abortion. And the circumstances surrounding it are ALWAYS beyond tragic. Incomprehensible tragedies. These babies who are aborted in the late term are wanted and loved

Yes Clinton supports it. I support it. No one gets an abortion in month 5-7 just cuz. It's always, always, every single time because the mother *will* die, or because the child will die, or because both the mother and child will die. If you ban late term abortion, you will save 0 babies and kill thousands of mothers.

And furthermore, when "abortion" happens on the 8th and 9th month when the baby can survive outside the womb... this procedure is done by millions and millions of women. We don't call it an abortion. We call it a c-section. And then baby isn't killed. A home is found for the baby if it is unwanted. There is no such thing as a 8th or 9th month abortion. It simply does not exist.

This is why the government needs to stop trying to control women's bodies.

I might be a fool for trying to discuss policy, but which specific policy proposals (and I'm thinking economic policy), do you think will "re-balance" our country?  If you anyone cares to answer I am quite interested. I am a bit slow in the head, so if you could be very detailed, not jump from topic to topic, and refrain from using platitudes instead of policy proposals it would help me understand your point of view.

It seems like many are still dodging Trump policy questions with the anti-Clinton line. You should remember that your candidate won. It's now time to defend your new President not against Clinton, but against reality.

Economic policy proposals that will 're-balance' are, in no particular order; (meaning as they pop into my head)
1. European trade agreements
2. Chinese currency manipulation
3. Nations who's governments are held together by our military being responsible for the costs.  (usually they have plenty of natural resources that are being fought over that they could use to help offset the billions we spend to keep them sovereign.)
4. NAFTA
5. Canada oil/gas pipeline
6. Domestic coal

Let me just discuss energy.  I can't type fast enough to cover all these in a post.
We haven't needed to be energy dependent for a long time.  That there's a fringe group that hate America enough to block pipelines, clean coal, nuclear energy, etc has been holding us back economically.  Why do these groups 'hate' America?  Because they are being manipulated by BIG business and political power.
Imagine not needing foreign oil for our country?  That gas and oil were so cheap that they gave it away, only charging for the distribution?  Fantasy?
In the 1960's, it was that way with electricity and natural gas.  We burned off the natural gas when drilling for crude.  Huge flames of the stuff 24/7 burned off because it was so cheap to develop oil and distribute it that it wasn't worth the time.  Homes made 100% electric because electric was free, other than the distribution.

Those who stood to loose a lot of money in their industries, bought politicians through elections.  Politicians who owed their power to these industries.  Who had to make laws to protect them or else someone else would get their funding.

And then came Trump.  Not a dime from any of 'em.  Talk about scared!  These politicians and industrial giants have GOT to be shitting their pants.  What about those governments that 'donated' to the Clinton foundation, expecting something from it and now she's not going to be president?  I bet, that within the year, Hillary has a hit on her from these National 'contributors'.  This isn't a game, as Obama said about Trump.  No sir.  It isn't.  Someone has to pay for the money donated.  I bet it's in blood.

Fudge, I was just thinking your last post sounded reasonable.

And I was just thinking how everyone has kept personal insult out of the discussion.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.  I do not claim mine is right.  I just thought there was some interest in the mind of those who voted for Trump was working, so I was just posting my thoughts.  Usually I'm disenfranchised.  This time, I was in the majority.  I live in a state, California, that is so disconnected with the mainstream of America in it's political views that it's popular liberal views are extreme in any other part of the country.  So my conservative views seem extreme to those here in California.  But they are not.  They are the majority as evidenced by the election outcome.

Before anything gets said that is gonna make me hug one of you mugs at the next tourney, with a kiss-n-make up,

Bu bye!

You almost seem to suggest that you are in the room when EVERY woman consults her abortion doctor.

United States: In 2003, from data collected in those areas that sufficiently reported gestational age, it was found that 6.2% of abortions were conducted between 13 and 15 weeks, 4.2% between 16 and 20 weeks, and 1.4% at or after 21 weeks.[18] Because the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's annual study on abortion statistics does not calculate the exact gestational age for abortions performed past the 20th week, there are no precise data for the number of abortions performed after viability.[18] In 1997, the Guttmacher Institute estimated the number of abortions in the U.S. past 24 weeks to be 0.08%, or approximately 1,032 per year.[19]

Hillary is winning the popular vote, and they're still counting votes from NY, California, and Washington. You and all other Trump voters are in the minority, NOT the majority. A major flaw of the electoral college.

All this shows is that it exists, not why it happens. I explained to you why these abortions happen. I do not need to be there, it is a fact that there are only four (corrected from 3 in my earlier post) doctors who perform late term abortion in the entire country.

And not one of these four will perform it unless the mothers life is at stake, the baby's life is at stake, or both. So I don't need to be there. These four doctors won't perform it just cuz. You'd have to spend a lot of money traveling to see them and waiting in line and jumping through hoops.

You know why there are only four doctors doing this? Why no one (even back then) did this electively? Because in 2009 one of these doctors was murdered. His clinic, which saved thousands of lives, was the target of firebombings and driven by shootings for over a decade before he finally got murdered by religious anti-abortion nutjobs.

So no, the imaginary scenario of babies being removed and getting their neck snapped like a chicken and tossed in the garbage simply does not happen. People only do it in the gravest of situations, only out of pure necessity, because these four doctors have to risk their lives every time they perform it. It's not taken lightly.

Nice little simple summary. If that makes you feel good, then great, keep your blinders on. As for fishing, Trump thinks that because there is water in the river that there is no water shortage. He will be all in favor of the farmers and will do whatever he can to give them whatever water they need. That means less fish for you. Things are going to get a lot worse before they get "great again." I hate that slogan. It's designed to make people feel warm and fuzzy without meaning anything.
