Hey guys for the handful of you that actually helped me out and gave me advise and I mean literally handful of you, thank you very much I was pretty exited to join a club because when I was in Texas I was part of one, (chasing tails) we would fish for red fish mainly and speckled trout we actually showed respect and pride for who we were I feel like NCKA is full of screen watchers I tried to participate and give reports or express ideas but it seems like people are mainly here to screen watch and not to share if we all shared ideas and or reported back we could actually get somewhere and catch more fish but anyway am I the only one that feels this way?

I think you formed the wrong impression somehow, in all of the 8 days you've been here.  I've hung out on a number of forums, and this is probably the most helpful and with the strongest sense of family.

You know the saying though ... you are what you put into it.  It's human nature, the more you get to know the forum, and the more the forum gets to know you, the more you get out of it.

In my opinion alot of us share our ideas on here. That being said we have discussed many things and beat some discussions to death. Seems like most of your posts are about hmb and can be answered by using the search function on this site.

Could be screen watchers with some help but I think some of these relationships take time.  Keep posting and don't quit and you will find that your own community within this community will evolve.  People are busy and many have helped to answer my mess.  I am new here and I fish alot and failed many hours with ways new to me regarding kayak fishing style and I have learned so much by screen watching that I can put much gathered info into a launch and fail again.  Next thing you know you may meet your new best friend and actually catch fish.  I gotta long way to go but I like it here and people are helpful and full of heckle and actually kind I believe.  What are you looking for? You may have said it in your original post, but your subject title sounds kinda settled.  Go fishing and get names and PM a few if you want specific help from a specific dude and be patient, fishing for community takes more patience than fishing.  I hope you are encouraged, I would fish with you anytime, I'm up in Marin and I'll be in Benicia early Thu. flailing for salmon. Oh, and I claim rookie status....:smt006

Seriously?!

I don't know whether to LOL or SMH...

Two days ago was my 10 year anniversary of catching a fish that really lit me on fire for this fishing and this forum, but I didn't want to plug up the feed with a re-hashed memory.  The fact is, there is enough going on here day to day that I really never feel like I need to throw down a report just to keep the flow going.

Take the HMB salmon bite for example - daily updates with locations, fleet reports, tackle description, depth...  What more do you need?  If I lived down there I'd be on that bite like stink on shit, or I'd at least have the option based on info provided.

I guess if this board isn't doing it for ya then happy trails.

To be fair though, I feel that this place - NCKA - is the best kayak fishing resource and community on the planet.

Best of luck~

Wow I don't think I've ever asked a question and didn't get dozens of offers to help, to take me out on guide trips at discount / free, advice on how to fish any body of water in California.

Then again, I spent more than one week getting to know people inside and outside the forum and met a lot of them in person. Might have something to do with it.
Thresher in avatar and Soupfin Shark in signature both caught and pic taken by me.

Always looking for new people to fish with!

You probably are the only one that feels that way.

There may have been others in the past, but they probably just stopped visiting the site.  You are the only one that has posted a "good bye, but prove me wrong so I don't go..." thread.

I think the disconnect is that NCKA is a community.  More so a family.  Everyone's welcome to be a part of it.  You won't get the most out of it without being a real part of it.  Tons of info on here to search thru.  Others above have said it well.

WTH? I think you've gotten the wrong idea about us. Go to hook-ups, go to events. I was welcomed with open arms, given advice and shown the ropes. I know it's not easy to reach out but you'll be well received if you do. And don't give up so quickly.
