I just got a new Revo. Does anyone else find it a little lacking in features for the price? The seats pretty narrow and there's no tracks or anything extra on it.

I certainly would. Someone mentioned to me at GS about the unusable space like the top of the front hatch. On the outback I like to store my fish on top of it covered with the burlap. Any fish on the Revo hatch would certainly slide off. Id like to see at least some keel protection, tracks, and for gods sake make that damn 8" citcular hatch a standard rectangular one. Of course all of these things are relatively easy to do on your own but im just being picky. I feel like they'll eventually do all of these but you'll be waiting a few years.

I doubt they will.  The Revo 13 is a very fishing capable kayak, but the increased cost of adding all those things would be superfluous for rec kayakers.  And Hobie targets rec kayakers as much as they do fishermen.

My thoughts exactly. The hatch liner isn't included either. It's $2500 and it doesn't compare to a $1000 kayak  other than the pedals.

sounds like you didn't "try before you buy"? When you look inside a Lamborgini there isnt much inside the cockpit....but it's a badass car!  Add some Scotty Rod holders and get that thing fishy!

Dude your just too use to your pa,yes it's a shell shocker when it comes to space.yes it's a hobie so it's as plain as you get.but I'm loving mine, just have to get adjusted too it and manage your tackle and such.you think it's bad wait till you have to take a piss otw then you'll really hate life.it works for me cause I can go from pedal to paddle so it gives the other parts a rest.i bought the liner and returned it it's not the same thickness and quality as the pa.and yes the only reason why I bought the revo over the others is the pedal drive
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

my AI is mostly the same as the Revo16 and it's plenty of space for me. I'm not a hoarder though :P all of my fishing tackle fits in one plano box.

I'm assuming you looked at it before you bought it right?  Not sure why you're surprised its a narrow kayak with no rails, these things are all visually noticeable prior to purchase.

It's for my wife (non fisherman) and for me to occasionally use when access is an issue. Is the outback seat wider?  As for the Lamborghini analysis - how come it doesn't come with turbo fins? I just feel like Hobie came up short on the redesign.

It's all about the speed.

What he said. w/turbos @ 5 - 5.5 mph average is pretty damn good, especially over 3 - 4 mile run. Also if you ever need to get back to the launch and have to cut through 20 knots head winds you're going to be glad you have it. Trolling is a breeze too. Enjoy it for what it is.

I appreciate the design.  A flatter front hatch with webbing would be nice, but other than that I like it.  I like how it is a customizable clean slate.  Don't be afraid to drill some holes and put stuff where you want it.  Get some yak attack rails and gear.

Seat too narrow is a bit of an odd complaint.  I'm not a small guy and I fit just fine.  If you are north of 250 then don't blame the boat for having a narrow seat.

The Outback has the same seat.  The PAs are the only ones with a bigger seat.  Best wishes to the both of you and if you're/your wife still aren't happy with it...I'm sure someone would be more than happy to take it off your hands.

As much as I love my Revo, it'd be awesome if Hobie gave the front hatch lid a concave design similar to the Outback.  Like you said, it's basically useless space with the convex design.  Can't lay anything on it without it sliding off.
