Gonna bring La Caja China to Albion.  Anyone going to Albion that can get a whole pig for a decent price?  Up to 100 pounds.  What is a decent price on a whole pig?

I called Angelo's in Petaluma. 2.75. Lb. 50 extra for brining. I'll go halves for Albion.

I can order a whole frozen 75 pound ave pig from Cash and Carry for $2.04/lb.  I did this with a 35 pounder on the 4th (at $3.29/lb) and it worked out pretty well. But a bigger frozen pig would have to sit in my bathtub for a few days defrosting.

For a fresh butchered pig @100 lbs it is about $220.

Live 100 lb pig is $160. Who wants to help butcher in Lodi? I am not bringing a live pig to Albion.

This is in house at Angelo's. No muss. No fuss. We just pick it up when we leave.

We got you at $2.75/lb, or Brian at $2.20/lb, or $1.60/lb if Rich Brockman butchers it.   :smt002  Brian is that live weight 100 or estimated dead weight 100?

And Craig, you're not going to have the room, nor the time to bring it up to Albion.  Brian can just throw it in his fish hold on his boat with a couple bags of ice!

It's a C-dory.  His fish hold is a 120qt ice chest.

Whatever!  Wrap it in blue tarp with a few bags of ice and we're in business.

If Rich wants to help butcher, I have a front loader and a cattle trough for scalding. Need some way of heating the water up though, not sure my water heater will give enough hot water.
