Those look nice and fancy. I wonder if they would fit bigger butt saltwater rods.

There has been some discussion over stealth rod holders at NWKA and the company rep has an account there.  I was looking at them a few weeks back and was informed that even though they look like scotty rod holders and advertise that they are compatible, that is not in fact so.  I think it was pmmpete, also active here at ncka, that brought it up and also had a workaround.  He's handy like that.

And just like that, the rep responds.  That's pretty good company representation there.

I have no relationship with this company but they do post on my local kayak fishing forum so I will send them a PM to come here and respond to the questions.

In case they come here, do your rod holders work in Yak Attack tracks?

They donated some for several HOW events up here in Oregon. Look good I'm going to order one if I ever stop buying yaks and trailers.

from a price standpoint, folbe doesn't seem to be even close.  viewing both videos, i think the stealth looks a little easier to use.  but can't really tell unless i could see/try them in store.

As a big rail guy who has lots of experience with rails, their rail mounted rod holders seem to be a good design on connecting with the rail using two point nuts and turn knobs. however, I'd be concerned about long handled rods hitting my legs while pedaling.

They fit my penn mariner 5 ft meat crane but a couple guys said there larger rods won't fit it, I played with one before my TBMD2 tournament but didn't take it on the water. They are built with thick plastic and look like they can take a real beating. As for folbe my Budy has them on his alumaweld intruder and I know I wouldn't be able to while release them on the kayak, but that's just me.

When I bought my 'yak it came with a Zooka tube and I quickly decided that I hate it quite a bit after I lost several fish trying to get my rod out of the holder, also when trolling for salmon with a fairly decent sized lead dropper it was almost impossible for me to get the ram mounts tight enough... It could have just been me, but I just didn't like it. I quickly looked for other options and looked at the Scotty Orca, it seemed like a pretty good option, but would require me to purchase several might mounts in order to get the base working well since again I wasn't going to trust a single position mount. Being on NWKA I learned about the stealth mounts and how many folks really like the track mount they make, also they have been a great supporter of the tournaments up here so I figured I would give it a shot. A few emails back and forth between Jason (from stealth) and I was quickly ready to order.

Upon receiving the stealth mount and having fished with it several times now I can say that I am definitely a fan of the stealth mount, the base is totally stable and I never have to be concerned about tightening the ram balls and then having trouble removing them. The rod holder simply works well for my usage. Some of the other reports here about thick butted rods not fitting haven't proved to be an issue for me, but I could see how that MAY be the case if it's a really thick rod butt. I have used my MH daiwa rod without issue as well as a "Sturdy stik" I use for sturgeon fishing, both fit mine without issue. I have used it spinning reels and casting and it works well for both.

It may not be the right product for everyone, but as others have mentioned Jason is a great guy to work with and puts customer service as a top priority, if you have any concerns I would simply say to contact him through the website and I am sure he will put you at ease.

I'm gonna bite the bullet and order a twin pack today.  I'll let you guys know what I think about them pretty soon.  hopefully they work well enough that I can use them on the boat too.

I purchased the extension and don't have any issues with my legs hitting with how it's setup. I wish I would've gotten a better picture, but I have a GT175 track mounted right next to the rudder control on the right hand side of the kayak, with the extension I have plenty of room for my legs while still keeping it within arms reach.
